    Hey guys,

I have a huge problem. I have two laptops...one mac one pc. The pc laptop is a sony vaio vgn c140g. I decided to sell it because it was just laying around collecting dust.

I decided to run a program called "DBAN Boot and Nuke" which basically you burn a bootable cd and run it at bootup and it wipes your entire HDD clean.

After this, I re-booted, and the BIOS was still intact, so no problems right?

Wrong. I put in burned windows XP disc and it reads for a bit and says "missing operating system" I checked the BIOS boot order and it boots CD drive first then HDD.

I ordered Vaio recovery discs for the time being.

Did I just burn the XP disc incorrectly? All I did was drag the .ISO XP file onto a CD-R and burned it.

Any help would be much appreciated!

You burned the disc wrong. You need to burn as image. Depending on your burning software it is probably somewhere under the file menu.
