I am fixing up my new computer and I cannot seem to get the case off. It has one gigantic screw on the top, back of the case and I took that off but can't find any other except the ones to my power supply. This damn thing is screwless it looks like, I cannot find where my case unscrews at all. How do I get my case off because I need to replace a drive, any help?

Really hard to help you like this.

Some cases have their screws in the front, you have to pull out the front panel first.

*note* if it isn't coming out, don't break it, screws are probably elsewhere.

I was going to suggest the same thing as Safe. Check to see if the front panel comes off. If it does there is a good chance there are some screws behind it that are holding the cover on.

OK, on the front panel there are two clips on the bottom and they come out but it is still hard trying to take the panel off. What's my next move?

Umm, peak inside and see if there is screws? :p

Seriously, can't help you like this, if I tell you to ply it open and something breaks, what then?

Look carefully around the edge of the case, If you can not see visible screws, the panels might be clipped on.

Get a flat head screw driver, GENTLY pry into the joining of the case and the covering panel, move the screw driver up and down see if it stops anywhere; then press in the part it does.

    1) Have any idea who makes the case? Got a camera you can take a pic with? :)
    2) Several case covers actually slide back slightly as one piece, then you lift up the entire cover as one big piece. I hate these kind of cases. :)

There are also some cases that have a locking mechanism on the top back. Usually, it is a slide that can be locked with a padlock.

If it's an Enlight case, you pop the front off, then unscrew it and pull forward.

The only case I can think of like you're describing is the older Dell/Micron case. For that one you unscrew the screw, push the tabs at the back in, then pull backwards. It's a chore to get it off.

Proof positive everyone should invest in an Antec case! Or an Apple... ;)

I absolutely hated Enlight cases for the reason Vengeance stated above.

:) I actually really love the Enlight cases, but I agree, taking the case off sucks so much!! However, The newer ones have two sides, rather than the one-piece design -- WOW it's so much easier. Plus the Enlight rails rule.

However now that companies like Chenming/Chenbro/Antec have adopted the rail system, Enlight's only real benefit is its sturdyness. Holy cow, there isn't a more bulletproof case in all of computing. I just dropped two computers outside (fell off the top of my dolly) -- the dell case cracked and broke into several pieces -- the enlight's front fell off . . . snapped it back in and away we go :)

I ran across a cse similar to that before, you had to take the screw off(it kept the top piece from coming off), then slide the top back and off, then the two side pieces come up.
Try it and see if the top will slide back and up after you take the screw out.

I thought the Mac G4 had the most beautiful case design. You pull a handle/lever on the side and the side just folds out and the mother board is on the side that folds out instead of buried inside the case.... OMG that's freakin' gorgeous. And so easy to work on!! Not like some of these cases designed by numbnuts that enjoy shredding their knuckles getting at everything inside. I love the Antec cases but they weigh a ton. But they have lots of cooling, and are sturdy as hell too.

    Here's an Apple G4 cracked open :
