    Houston Texans

    TE Mark Bruener $1,008,333 - $1,008,332 (2006 savings)
    CB Marcus Coleman $3,118,433 - $585,299 (2006 savings)
    RB Domanick Davis $3,800,000 - $200,000 (charge)
    DT Seth Payne $4,225,000 - $850,000 (2006 savings)
    OL Todd Wade $5,166,666 - $1,500,002 (charge)
    DT Gary Walker $5,833,333 - $1,500,001 (charge)

I think they'll find someway to keep DD, but the others....

DD is going to stay...A good back when healthy and with a better O-Line, the sky's the limit...

with us switching to a 4-3 D, I don't see Payne staying around...We don't need a one dimensional TE, so I think Bruener will be gone as well...Wade, you're out of here...

No way they cut Dominick. If we can't find a good trade down scenario or if we take someone other than Bush at #1, we will definitely need him for our offense. Even if we DO take Bush, Davis would be useful. The others on the list I'm not sure about.

I say keep McKinney, but restructure his deal so he's not making as much. Then move him to guard, his natural position. He can be a decent guard in this league. He was just playing out of position for 4 years.

I could accept this, but I doubt he would.

He already said that he is willing to restructure to stay with the Texans.

They will keep DD. They can use him in an offense that Kubiak will be running. Switching out backs, running 2 backs and moving Bush to the slot. With the type of offense they are going to want to run this year and for the future having 2 backs that can play with some skill and in Bush's case major skill, then we will need to keep DD.

Have to honestly imagine the type of offense setups and plays they can run with 2 healthy good backs with the catching ability out of the backfield like Bush and Davis.

Wouldn't the cuts seriously damage their 2007 cap space? It I recall correctly, the signing bonuses of the waived players get accelerated to the cap the next year. If that is the case, they could have over 20 million dollars of dead cap. Maybe they're counting on the new CBA to be favorable for these circumstances.

It's effecting this year's salary cap as well. With Walker's cut, we are only $4 million under the cap, and basically all that will go toward the draft.

So the cap damage is spread throughout both seasons?

I don't mind if we don't have cap space this year. Next season will be ugly regardless, so I won't mind seeing young players gaining some experience and seeing if we can find lightning in a bottle from some journeymen. However, I want something to be optimistic about for the 2007 season.

Bush with a good line is sky's the limit. DD is fantastic, though limited in hitting home runs.

I'm so looking forward to the Davis-Bush two-headed monster. Punish those defenses.
