I think KB24 and Lebron might have something to say about this declaration.

It's the same as when Marbury declared himself to be the best PG in the league.

Self-confidence is important for a world-class athlete. He doesn't do his team or fans any favors by thinking of himself as inferior to a competitor.

Haha, you can sub Vince Carter, T-Mac or just about any other underachieving superstar wing player in his stead and that Celtics team is still championship caliber.

LOL. This is what happens when you're being guarded by Vladimir Radmanovic in the Finals. Hell, I would look half a decent player if I were being guarded by him.

He produced in the in the NBA Finals. Do I think he is the best player in the NBA? Of course not. Do I think he is justified in believing that he is the best player? Yes.

He squared off against a player who many think is the second best SG of all time and who a few r****ded folks think is the best SG and more than held his own AND won the series. I think he can argue that he met the best and beat the best in the biggest series of the season.

He is not even top 5. The guy was pretty much washed up and mailing it in like a Vince Carter before Garnett and Ray arrived.

    perimeter players-wise

top tier - kobe, lebron, paul

    gap

2nd tier - tmac, wade, deron

    gap

3rd tier - nash, melo, davis, pierce...

I think Rocketeer mentioned that Radmanovic guarded Pierce quite often during the finals. We all know how that turned out.
On the same note, it was pointed out in a comment from the original article that if Radmanovic guarded Kobe during the finals, Kobe might have gone for 100, thats how useless Vlad is/was.

I know that no professional athlete thinks or wants to think that they are inferior to their competition but they are some delusions that they should not let persist.

Tony Parker didn't lose his mind when he got Finals MVP.

Pierce was nothing without Allen and KG. He would have been crying and demanding a trade if it wasn't for some lucky moves by Danny.

I hope that he seriously has a horrible year with injuries...justice would be served.

There's no "how", he just isn't. Do you honestly feel that wade is equal or better than kobe or lebron both offensively and defensively?

He's just not on their level

Damn man, It's easy to bag on him now, but that was truly one of the most Jordan-esque finals that he brought us a few years back.

He has done more for his team in the playoffs than Lebron or Kobe.....
