Hey everyone, Just saw the tail end of it , but remember those seven children from Houston that was left by their mother in a Nigerian orphanage ? The seven children and the two pastors who rescued them were on Oprah today. Apparently ,they're HUGE fans of the Houston Rockets, and Patrick Ewing via video surprised them with tickets to games. Their favorite player was Yao Ming, and Yao sent them each a jersey. He's also going to send a limo for them to watch a few games in a luxury box as his guests. They're going to get to meet him before the game. The Houston Rockets organization also gave them each a big back pack full of Rockets gear. I thought it was pretty cool, so just wanted to share
Well, instead of focusing on Oprah bashing, you guys should realize that it was a nice gesture and promo by the Rockets. I saw the tail end in passing this afternoon, and the kids looked excited. This is a classy organization, and this was a a good way for a lot of non-sports fans to see that on national TV.
I'm pretty sure they are just joking. But you're right, this is a classy move by the Rockets. Did they ever find the lady that dumped those kids over there?
Heck, I'll be abandoned to get to ride a limo to the game, sit in the luxury suite and get to meet Yao!!
Can you guys tell Ewing I am an abandoned 30 year old child hiding from headhunters in the jungles of a third world country. My parents left me here back in 1980. I've since learned how to live in the wild, climb 90' tall trees when escaping lions and tigers and bears (oh my) and I've also built a computer with jungle dial-up out of tree bark, monkey toes and a banana. I mean, that's how I'm posting here or whatever. I'll pick up my tickets and the pickup window, thank you.
