God I love this guy. How can anyone dislike Patrick Beverley, Lin and Thunder fans excluded.

 

So Lin fans can't be Beverley fans? So many ways to troll, smh.

99% of the people here who dont like/talk down on beverly are LOFs, so its somewhat logical to assume that.

 

On the whole, they like to put him down and make up **** like "he can't go around screens" or whatever. If you're a Lin fan and also enjoy watching other Rockets players, more power to you.

 

I kind of find the whole concept of arguing for Lin's worth by downplaying another player's value as kind of stupid. I mean, wouldn't it better to show a player's worth by allowing him to show it in comparison to another player at his best? It makes the argument more fulfilling instead of showing that Lin is only good because of another player's faults.

 

Alternatively, there are Lin fans who think that Lin is clearly a better player than Beverley, and don't understand why the latter is averaging more MPG and has a much longer leash. And they believe that arguments about "fit", "defense", and "leading the second team" are smokescreens that still don't explain those fundamental facts.

The reality of the situation is that there is clearly a competition between Beverley and Lin when it comes to minutes, based on how the coaching staff (read: McHale) behaves during games when both are available. This is what draws the inevitable comparisons. If Lin were playing with CP3 the vast majority of rational posters, regardless of whom or what they are following, would not make the ridiculous argument that Lin is better than CP3. But since that's not the case, you can't take one scenario and then extrapolate that into a ridiculous red herring.

Try not to oversimplify groups of people and lump them together based on superficial characteristics just because you can't handle the real complexity of life.

Based on my count there are probably a handful of actual hardcore "LOFs" that still post here with any regularity (e.g., once a week or more). (And honestly, you can just put those guys on ignore and you would literally never see their posts again, which would create exactly the environment on the boards that you ostensibly want to "go back to".) Those guys are more than outnumbered by the remaining "LOFHs" who bring them up constantly even in threads where they don't appear. My particular favorite is when no one even brings up Jeremy Lin in a thread, and then some LOFH troll posts, "LOL ya but Harden can't go right like Jeremy Lin so we should trade Harden".

 

On a side note, Goran Dragic is wrecking Chris Paul tonight.

Too bad he needed that fourth year, he would be a monster here.

 

Not saying it's the same situation, but Amare looked damn good his 1st season as a Knick.
