The Rockets will be fine, they are just going through a few issues. 1. Tmac, Yao & Battier are all coming off injuries and are not back to speed, it will come with time. 2. Chemistry - 3 new rotational players in AB, Barry and Artest, everyone need to understand their roles, and they are still figuring that out. This team will get it together, they have enough pieces to compete, they just need to get healthy, play together longer, make a few adjustments and away they will go. The Rockets are still one of the top teams in the west, they just need to find their identity. It will come soon......and loses like the Portland and Lakers losses will only help them get better in the long run. Don't worry be happy. DD
I really hope so DD. I believe that Battier's return will have an effect (I'd like him to replace Ron as a starter for chemistry purposes). I don't mind temporarily reverting to JVG offense (at least it kinda worked) temporarily either. *sigh* but this game was depressing.
I'm not buying the whole T-mac will all of a sudden pop up healthy thing. I'm a lil concerned about him.
Is it wrong to have a thread pointing to the positive side? Oh wait this is Clutchfans. You're right...
I agree 100%. Tracy, Yao, and Shane are coming back from injuries and Yao and Tracy are obviously limited right now due to that fact. The offense is a work in progress. The defense is going to be light years better when Shane gets back and Ron and he can cover the two best wing players. Step back off the ledge people, things will be ok.
We are absolutely overreacting, as you suggest DD. However, there still is no excuse for not at least showing some dignity. If it was just us missing tons of shots and losing, say,70-90 or something like that, I would be fine. But here, we aren't boxing out and getting rebounds (we were one of the league's best last year, and are firmly in the bottom half so far this year), we aren't playing good transition defense, we aren't getting to the line with any kind of consistency...and worst of all, Tmac is playing terribly on both ends of the court. If you are too tired or too sick or too hurt to play, tell coach and go sit on the bench. I don't want to see this not-even-half-assed effort from Tmac anymore. Go sit on the bench until you are ready to play. And obviously, the blame isn't solely Tracy's, but he is very easy to single out after tonight's dreadful performance. That's still not a pass for Yao and Artest, though. I never want to see Yao making passes out of the high post again...I still shudder when I think about it.
Come on DD, the koolaid is a little thin. Yao has no business being on the floor. What ever it is, he needs to be recovering from it off the court. Rockets took a page out of the Texans playbook and got their ass handed to them. Their identity is wearing #11, looks impressive, but is soft and can't finish.
Thank you. People need to be reasonable. We did get crushed. If It was march right now, and not november, i'd be really worried. As it is, though, not so much.
True. better now than later. this will keep us humble. we are veteran team, we can take it and re-group. "Rome was not built in one day".
it just seems like david stern will call his mafia boys to officiate the celts and lakers into the finals AGAIN. our team is just not tough enough. I hope they prove me wrong.
completely agree. this is what the rockets do, scare the **** out of us at the beginning of every season. we were what 15-17 last year? if we get to that point i'll be worried but at 4-3 i'm still extremely optimistic.
