Where is the love? Despite popular belief Tracy McGrady has not quit on the fans or the team. Unbelievable right? Word on the street is that not only has he not been dogging it, but that he actually had surgery on his knee over the offseason. Incredible, I know! It's always easier to kick a man when he is down, but few choose to mix words with those at the top. Tracy has given this team as much as ANY superstar is possible of giving. He then goes under the knife to repair his shoulder and knee (only after delaying surgery to attempt to single handedly get us out of the playoffs) and all we do seem capable of is hating on him. Wake up people. I understand most of you suffer from having only short term memories, but to completely throw a guy under the bus while on the road to recovery is disgusting. Truth be told he shouldn't even be playing, but this team is so injury riddled that has been forced to grin and bare it It's truly a shame that we chastize T-Macs every move, only to turn around and praise Battier for the exact same things. T-Mac comes back early and he's costing the team. Battier does it and he's a hero who feels no pain. It's all pretty laughable. I don't hear any complaints of Ron laying enough bricks to build a new Toyota Center, or on Yao Ming's refusal to carry the load. You'd think that after watching McGrady do it for all these years that he'd welcome the opportunity to pick up the slack. Everyone wants it to be his team anyways. Believe me I am not a T-Mac loyalist, but I know enough when I see someone hurting and incapable of doing anything about it. He will heal, but that is going to take time. I just want everyone here to remember that it is easy to hate, and much harder to love. I love this team, and every member on it. We've seen McGrady play through pain the entire time he has been in Houston, and noone has ever seen anything like this. Wouldn't that lead us to believe he was truly hurting out there. Thinking logically, why would a he work on his FTs and 3 Ball as much as he did if his intention was to quit on this team and move on. This is by far the greatest opportunity of his career, and this team is destined for greatness once we get everyone healthy.
No more excuses. Enough talk, more action... Just need to "regain focus". <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/CRS_v9_rUbg&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/CRS_v9_rUbg&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> With that said... <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/jyJaPeh_9yQ&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/jyJaPeh_9yQ&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Co Signed - I didn't see any of you calling him out about his injuries in the playoffs last year. What gives you the right for calling him out now.
Loose particles is about as minor as a surgery can get. Hey, maybe if he got a heart transplant he might actually be trying on the court. DD
No, you must be right. He just wants Houston to ba as pathetic as possible so that everyone can use him as a scapegoat. That explains why he was calling Deke every day in order to sway his vote.
Actually, it is YOUR lack of a long term memory that causes you to start stupid threads defending a guy who has pulled stunts like this his whole career. This isn't his first time to cry wolf and that is why most of us are down on him.
It's not the fact that he is sucking or playing like crap, it's the complete lack of effort or passion. At least when Ron is throwing up brick or shane is letting his guy blast by him, the effort is still there. You cannot deny that.
tmac is doin all he should do right now, not all he CAN do cuz if he were to do that then he'd injure his knee and be out till next season. once tmac is healthy he'll be able to play w/ "passion" and "heart" and all that bullcrap yall talk about. he played november cuz of the rox tought schedule, needed 3 weeks off after that but got 1 week. its obvious he needs time off but when yao ming cant step up his game and ron barely starting to get his game going, and the inconsitent play of the rox bench, pple think ONE PERSON can change everythign. well, tmac kept us in playoff contention by playing thru his injuries in november, which is always our 1st or 2nd toughest month of the season. pple just cant deal w/ the fact that tmac cant play 100% every game. why cant yao get 20/10 every game? why cant rafer hit an open ****ing jumpshot? february is when rox fan start eating their own bullcrap hate on tmac and get back on his nuts again.

there's a difference between road to recovery and lack of effort. maybe it's a combination of both on TMacs part, but if he still is recovering then he shouldn't be playing at all. all he does when he's playing is hurt the team. we've seen what he can do when he is healthy for a couple games this season, but other than that he just hasn't been worth having on the court. i'm not hatin on TMac, i'm just sayin that he should sit out til he really has recovered.
Recovering...LOL .....LOOSE PARTICLES people......I mean honestly....it is not even a half inch incision where they insert a scope, suck out the loose particles and you get 2 or 3 stitches. Get a grip. Oh, and yes, I have had it done.....and know the recovery is not even close to 9 months.... DD
I did not know TMac had this kind of surgery. I thought he had the same surgery as DWade and we all know how long it took DWade to get back to normal.
Oh my. . . that was pathetic. I could have cut off that base line and my knee is gumpy right now. Rocket River
DD, There is no such thing as minor surgery.... Especially with a knee... I have had several surgeries(6 on the right knee) and none of them were minor... Now when you say that T-Mac sucks right now or he's dogging it on the court... I have no arguement with that... But when you start on the medical side, well that's a whole different arguement. First off we have no ideal what shape his knee was in before the surgery, we have no ideal of what damage he has done to the knee over the years while playing on it and opting out of surgery. For the most part every professional athlete (not non-professional athlete) handles off season injuries and surgeries differently. Some come back quicker than others. Some rehab hard than others, some (ala Ralph Sampson, Allan Houston, etc..) work there butts off and still can't come back.
T_Man, I hear ya and respect what you say, but when 3 different doctors say there is nothing structurally wrong with it...well... DD
They also say that the damage in Ron's ankle is nothing out of the ordinary for a player his age. As T_Man said, you can say what you want about Mcgrady's attitude and effort, but stop with all this talk about how you know what its like to have that surgery done and how you know you were able to rehab and all that crap. People react differently from surgery. The same surgery by name "arthroscopic", can be totally different in degree of damage from person to person. I like everyone else wish Tmac looked like he was trying harder. But dont pretend you know what his knee feels like. Grant Hill had ankle surgery and basically lost four years. Im sure others have had similar surgery and recovered much quicker.
