What a pathetic performance by the Rockets. Fullly healthy, going against a Hawks team minus their best player, and they still found a way to lose. Is it so much to ask that they could play above their level of competition for once? This was a 12-9 Rockets team going against a 13-26 Hawks team. For the third year in a row, the Rockets are lacking consistant effort. Nothing has changed. They just keep on losing to sub par teams, and they continue to blow leads.

It would be nice if the Rockets could sign someone like Mario Ellie, who could inject some toughness into this squad, because outside of Kenny's antics, the Rockets are seriously lacking in that department.

I thought this post was going to be about how pathetic it is to see a millionaire basketball player who happens to be African-American getting into a fight on Martin Luther King Day... in Atlanta no less. Now THAT is pathetic.

The Rocks were pretty pathetic too. ;)

And there is no end in sight. It doesn't matter how much talent the Rockets have, they just keep losing to lousy teams (or I should say, "talent-lacking" teams, since the Rockets are lousy themselves). The core of Francis, Mobley, Thomas, Norris, and Cato has had nearly three seasons to learn how to bring it against lower competition, and still nothing has changed.

Fully healthy except for 40% of their starting lineup. I didn't see the game, but I didn't see Rice and Mo Taylor in the box score, so I'll assume they're still injured.

Good point - how sad to get into a fist fight like that on MLK day.

The absence of Rice and Taylor has been a constant all season. They are as healthy as they will get with Steve starting.

Thats the second year in the row there was a fight on MLK. Last year it was Camby vs Ferry.

The Rockets team is a reflection of their coach.

I'm at work, so I didn't get to see the game.

But from looking at the Box score, our starters appeared to have a good game.

    Francis near another triple double.
Griffin with 16/9 and 4 blocks
    Cato with 10 boards!!!
    Mobley with 26
    Thomas with 11

If I didn't know the final score, I would have guessed we won this game given our starter's production.

    What was the difference?

NAZI appears to have had a monster game against CATO!!

And that ain't a very good lineup. What you had today was a lottery team, playing it's 5th game in 7 days, losing on the road to another lottery team with comparable talent.

The problem with the Rockets is that they play like individuals and not as a team. I hate to say it but Rocket games just arent exciting to watch anymore. No fast breaks, tons of ISO's, and turnovers galore make for a pretty boring and upsetting evening. They make horrible decisions, commit silly turnovers, and miss free throws. Its frustrating to be a fan these days.

I just don't understand why we don't use more motion in our offense! Our guards are as good as anyone running the ISO but it doesn't get ANYONE involved.....

Francis was near a QUADRUPLE double - 8 turnovers. :)

How in the hell do you think I feel? I bought the f*cking League Pass, and essentially threw $165 down the toilet.

Manny, leauge pass is not a total waste. Just watch Utah games, and root for the other teams. It's almost as fun as rooting for the Rockets. Also, check out Bucks-Kings, Bucks-Mavs, and Kings-Mavs games! High scoring fun!

Dude I'd love to be in your position. At least you get to watch the friggin games and then you can watch almost all the other games in the league. I would love that, but I live at Dobie so we can't get it (at least to my knowledge).

Anyone who's ever lived at an apartment in Austin, can you get digital cable and then the league pass. I mean I'm really getting sick of not watching rockets games and knowing I pretty much won't get to watch them for 2 more years (and that's without including possible graduate school). So I say consider yourself lucky Manny.
