Why is this team so mentally weak in the 4th quarter? It happened last year, and It keeps happening this year. IS IT THAT HARD TO KEEP A LEAD! I can't imagine how hard it will be to re-do a game situation like tonight in the playoffs for us this year.
I can't believe we lost this game... shameful Horrible playmaking, horrible coaching... horrible everything in the 4th quarter
Mental Character... We have NONE. Mental Toughness? Yeah right. The only thing mental about our team is our mistakes down the stretch.
After they get a double digit lead, they like to shoot lousy 3s with 18 left on the shotclock and/or pass the ball to skip. Other teams leave him open for a reason, not that skip won't shoot if he isn't open. It's the same damn pattern. They rush lousy 3s, when the lead is down to single digits they pass to yao who gets doubled. Yao or tracy misses some gimmies and then the game is wide open. There is no clock pacing or steady rhythm to their offense when they relax. And they relax with so much time left.
Ya i know this is pathetic but the more of these close games the better it is for us. By the time the playoff comes we will be experienced in crunch time situation. today we got good looks that we just cant get it to go last year it would be a Head 3pter with 3 defenders on him
This team is as mentally tough as our two stars. Which isn't saying awhile lot. There is no killer instinct what so over. Didnt the same thing happen kast year we kept blowing 4th quarter leads?
In fact, I think the exact same thing happened last time Dallas was at the Toyota Center. We were leading most of the game, and then they steal it at the end. They are better than us, flat out. This game was a great test for where we are, and it showed how far we are from the best teams in the league.
Try getting outplayed for 12 minutes. Outscored 38-20 in the fourth quarter...38 points!! Totally unacceptable.
Duh. If I have a 17 point lead, I should chuck 3s with tons of time left on the shot clock. MrGrady and Alston led the comeback for the Mavs by horrible shot selection.
I don't expect the team to win the championship. High expectation leads to big disappointment. Just have fun watching the team play . Well, in fact, I have to say I am very disappointed
The team has no identity. There is no defined, workable comfort zone the players default to when the going gets tough. We are still in transition and it will look ugly until things coalesce. Eventually, the players are going to start running Adelman's offense more consistently or he will have to give up and junk most of it. Give it time. Scola is going to improve and will eventually close out games instead of Chuck. Bonzi will find his brain and play like he has one. If you throw out the Lakers game, he is 5/33 (17%!) from the field the last 5 games. For me, giving up 38 points in the 4th quarter is the most heartbreaking thing about the game. You can't blame this one on fatigue. It was pure chokejob. And people, Brandon Bass is gonna be a player in this league. Yao had no chance to guard him.
we led by like 15 points in the 3rd and I stopped watching. I just came back to check the final results, fully expecting a win, WTF!!!!! I shouted to the screen so hard I literally woke up my roommates, 38 points in the fourth???
Did you see when T-mac got fouled by Harris, the camera went to Francis who jokingly was having the other bench players "hold him back."
There is no easy solution to this mess. There was no excuse for not winning tonight. We need Francis to close out games. It was he who took us into the playoffs against Denver even though he is no longer the same player but he does have some mental strength down the stretch. Deke needs to replace Yao on defense down the stretch.Bonzi and James are causing us big problems right now. Scola needs to learn how to avoid foul trouble and how to play with Yao and T-Mac.Nothing has changed since last year. Nothing.
