Just thought I give you a little nugget rumor I heard... Reportedly, there is a push to make Pat Riley the coach of the Miami Heat again and moving Gundy to a vice president position. Riley wants to coach again and... Shaq is reportedly working behind the scenes to get him to coach again. Just some FYI since it seems that both Gundy brothers owe Riley their present careers to some extent.
I could see Riley coming back to coach, but not Stan Van Jeremy in the front office. Coaching's in their blood.
I'd lose respect for Riley if he all of a sudden wanted to coach again just as his successor took the team to the brink of the Finals. Evan
Shaq's desperate, the problem the Heat ran into was the injury to Wade, that had nothing to do with coaching. Oh and, remember when he said he'd make Stan Van Gundy a big name coach? Right.
No, I dont think that is going to change, Stan Van Gundy is good at coach, and Pat Riley is good at the vice president (he is a good coach too)
Word I heard is that Shaq considers SVG as a 'college coach', wants Riles. (Did SVG ever coach college?) Shaq does have a habit of dominating others to get what he wants...
If this happened, Pat Riley's reputation and credibility would be destroyed. Shaq's too if he were alleged to be involved. No way. After what happened with Larry Brown, forget this.
