Pat Condell is offended!!!

He makes some obvious, but good points -- Muslim extremists get away with far too much through fear and intimidation.

But it seems that OP has been itching to throw a barrel of these down for a while.

I like listening to this guy talk. Honestly, he takes a more strident anti-Muslim position than I'm typically comfortable with, but his points seem logical to me.

 

I think he is right about everything, but it kind of stresses me out to listen to him, just because it is sad that all he says is true.

Since he is driving home a point, he is not talking about something which - despite my general agreement with the things he says - is important, in my opinion:

Just because someone believes in some of the non-offensive teachings of Islam since that is what they have been brought up with doesn't mean there is anything wrong with them at all. I think there are many who filter out the "offensive" parts of Islam and basically are what we would like to see as "moderates", and I have no problem with those followers of Islam (although I am worried about their potential to be drawn to the side of the more radical elements within Islam in an "us vs. them" kind of way).

That is the one thing I am not sure about with this guy - whether he has a general problem with Muslims, or with the ideological things he talks about in his videos.

I don't have a general problem with Muslims, but with the ideology itself, just as much as this guy.

 

I thought it was funny.

 

He is a bit too angry for my taste, but I watched a few videos and couldn't find much to disagree with.

 

I've only listened to 3 or 4 of his videos, but he strikes me as more of an aggressively anti-religious person (of the Richard Dawkin / Sam Harris variety). I guess he sees a lot of the problem with organized religion as being typified in Islam, but he doesn't seem to me generally hateful against Muslims.
