I went to the Knicks-Rockets game tonight, and it seemed to be the first Houston game where the actual outcome was in Yao's hands in the 4th quarter. I can't blame his late turnovers for the loss, because he kept the Rox close in the closing minutes.

However, where was Cat? The guy was on fire in the first half before Rudy inexplicably benched him for a stint and allowed Moochie and Stevie to bobble the lead down to single digits.

And in the second half, there were times when I was screaming for them to swing to Cuttino, who seemed to be wide open on the perimeter all game.

    Pass the ball to Cat!

... and be careful what you wish for.

Has anyone thought if Kenny Thomas is still with the Rox, we might win the game?

Rox needs to sign a veteran defensive PF in the off season.
If MoT can be traded, it would be great, but no team wants him probably.

pass the ball to cat??? oh you mean the guy who was nonexistent in the 2nd half.

How about the fact that the Rockets first possesion of the 2nd half was a play for Mobley in which he rushed a 20 footer with like 17 secs to go in the shot clock.

I knew the game was going to be a struggle when that shot was taken.

I was at the game too. Cat had his shots in the 2nd half, he just cooled down. I think he was 1-7 in the half.

I don't believe what I am reading. Cuttino shouldn't be shooting it. Yeah, he was on fire last night and it carried into the first half of tonights game. But down the stretch, Steve and Yao should work together. Cat should be situated and move without the ball and keep himself around the 17-20 foot area for a kickout jumper.

Please. DO NOT GIVE CAT THE DAMN BALL!!! (in crunch time, that is.)

At the game tonight? Was MSG buzzing for Yao Ming tonight? It was nice on tv but I can't imagine the cheers you heard from actually being there.

I actually like when Cat shoots the ball in crunch time. I can just remember to many times where he pulled the game out for us with last second shots.

this sounds like a challenge for heyp and his massive archive of tapes he has (you always talk about tapes, i assume you must have a lot of them).

off the top of my head

    his 1st career game
    the boston game yesterday
i believe he made a layup near the end of a game against ny two seasons ago that gave us the lead and the win
lakers game on national television 3 seasons ago he hit the game clincher right in someone's face.

so that's four, someone else get one. i want my $200.

Definitely buzzing. The game was fairly sloppy throughout, but there was a definite playoff atmosphere to the last few minutes. Yao put some juice back in the Garden. This is a league dependent on iconic stars, and he certainly is a one.

Back to the original post ... yeah, Cuttino missed some gimme lay-ups in the 2nd half, but the fact that no Knick could contain him is part of the point. I know you guys remember the game at MSG two years ago when Cat burned Spree for the winning bucket in the closing seconds. No Knick defender can hold him, period. His shot was working, and he was getting that first step all night. I just think it was the rare occasion where I thought Cat didn't shoot it enough.

And also ... Posey went out when he picked up his 4th foul but *never* came back in. And Glen Rice was absolutely invisible in his 25 minutes. The only time you saw him was when he was getting beaten off the dribble. Why didn't Rudy put Posey back in the game?

Anyways, you are getting old with all your hatred for Francis and Mobley. Be a Rocket fan or get out.

He needs to learn how to draw a foul with a jump stop pump fake.

He can get by his man, but he misses a TON of layups...if he got to the line more often it would minimize this.
