I currently work full time for our great City of Houston (hey we do house the Rockets don't we?). I'm sure you've heard that working for the city doesn't pay much and the only real benifits are the retirement and insurance plans. Well back to the point, I'm looking to get a part time job during the week at nights with some flexibility (I'm not going miss Rockets games for work). I'm trying to avoid retail and prefer doing computer/clerical/office work if possible. Anybody have any idea what I could go for? Of course the pay would also come into effect, but if it's decent it doesn't matter as long as it meets my other requirements. I doubt a job like this exists, but I'm at work and I'm bored so I figured it would be worth a try. Pugs
Try a temp agency. Lots of companies (especially companies with international interests) look for late night of over night data entry folks.
Try working door at a bar. You may move up to bartendeder (if you know how to make drinks) and you can make decent money for a night of work if you work door at a place with heavy tippers on a weekend.
Thanks for all your help. I've contacted UPS and am about to try Fed Ex. If I can do data entry at night I may go for that if I can find it. As much as I'd love to work at the door, I don't know if anyone would hire me since I have no previous experience and probably wouldn't scare too many people If the oppurtunity came that would probably be my first choice however. Thanks again for your help. Pugs
Wrong. You're paid by the temp agency, not the client. Temp agencies charge the client you work for a good deal more than what you are paid. Typical markups for large clients can range from 28-40% while markups for small clients will easily be more than 50%.
