Don't deserve anything you don't earn. Just play.

I still think that was an idiotic thing to say.

Blazers are not going look at that quote in context. They are going to use it as a motivation.

Parsons' head is getting too big and he needs to be humbled.

Are we purposely leaving out entire quotes for hits now or something?

I care more about Parsons being humbled than the blazers choosing to do the humbling. The quote shows Parsons is humble because he says they need to prove it. For me, that's good enough. The blazers already have fuel and fire, this is like adding a drop of gasoline to a huge bonfire, it does nothing. However, if players like Parsons see they need to go out and earn it, then we are in good company...

I disagree, I think this is exactly the mentality that is necessary to win the series. Hopefully the words translate to the court.:p

It can stay inside the locker room.

Media does not need to be told this.

I agree the 'deserve to move on' part is just terrible -- nothing is ever granted or entitled in the NBA. The Rockets probably deserved to win back in 2005 against the Mavs after winning the first two road games. That didnt happen of course.

Parsons has yet to put together two good halves of basketball consistently this entire series and Batum has outplayed him IMO.

Whatever happened to the Parsons that got playing time his rookie year only because he was a smart and good defender? That guy is long gone it seems.

This is different from that i'm the best SF comment which he acted arrogantly as an individual ,as a team i don't think there's anything wrong with it, or you prefer Parsons said " we feel like they are the better team and we deserve to lose " ?

#1 Nothing Parsons or anyone else says is going to motivate the Blazers anymore than they are already motivated. The Blazers were up 2-0, having stolen 2 on the road. They know that their best shot to close out the series is tonight at home. If they lose they are looking at an epic collapse.

#2 Parsons didn't really say anything controversial, he said the Rockets feel they deserve to go to the second round, and they know they have to prove it. The Rockets have not played well, but no one can say they have not played very hard. The Rockets could have just folded up camp after losing the first two at home... they didn't, they fought and scrapped back into the series, even with terrible loses in Game 1 and 4.

#3 His "big head" is exactly why Parsons isn't playing in Europe right now or out of the league. No one thought Parsons was worth a damn after leaving UF. He was viewed as a future European player that was soft and limited offensively. Parsons refused a chance to make money in Europe, and instead took the long shot chance he would make the NBA. Since then he has improved every single season. He still has problems.... but his attitude isn't one of them.

Totally agree. Why even give an extra ounce of motivation to the enemy? Watch Batum punk his are now. Whatever happened to the simple "stay hungry and humble"? Smh...

The rockets will be a better team if Harden, Lin, and Jones can play some solid defense every night, if not, then how can you make this statement that we feel like we are a better team?

Absolutely nothing wrong with what he said. There is no bulletin board material here for Portland either. I want Houston to show some form of fight and confidence

Yes we are the better and deeper team but when your coach and players are not taking advantage of it, you deserve to lose. McHale will not allow us to prove we have a better bench so it's up to the starters!!
