I doubt he will go very far since the Hornets let Jackson go so he could get some more time. For about a minute there I was going to suggest that the Rockets go after him, but i realized that he isn't much better than Alston (although he would be a decent backup). Their shooting is almost identical (both about 39% from FG and 35% from 3pt), and he is a little on the short side. The one thing he does well is drive to the basket and has shown that he can come up big in the 4th quarter. But not worth the money he will probably ask for. New Orleans guard Jannero Pargo admitted on Tuesday that he will opt out of his contract later this month, according to The Times-Picayune. The move will allow him to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1, but he still hopes to sign a long-term deal with the Hornets. Head Coach Byron Scott claims that he wants Pargo back on the roster next season. http://www1.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/52938/20080611/hornets_pargo_plans_to_opt_out/#
he is really streaky. he didn't show up in some games for the hornets in the playoffs, then shows up in one game, only in the 4th. and it doesn't look like he'd go anywhere else but new orleans. he has a nice role over there.
I'm not "that" high on Aaron Brooks, but he stands to duplicate Pargo's numbers almost exactly if he's given the same minutes and he's just a rookie. Either shows Brooks is more capable than we thought or Pargo isnt as good as he appears.
Pargo is pretty much what I would expect Luther Head's ceiling to be; streaky shooter, tunnel vision, inadequate handles to be a point, but very good 1 on 1, and big cohones. It took Pargo a few teams to finally catch on; if Luther does get dumped this year, I would expect him to break out on a team with a dominant point guard, against a non-Jazz defense.
If I were a Hornets fan, I would be damn pissed at this guy right now. Screwed up game 7 down the stretch, won't pass, and now opt out. Byron has fetish about this guy, I am telling you. He is not that good.
I don't think he messed it up in game 7. He made some big shots and brought them back in the game. No one else decided to show up for that game.
He's been a decent backup PG for them the last 2 seasons and in game 7 he was the only player with any guts. In fact, without Pargo, game 7 would have ended up a blowout. I don't want Pargo on the Rockets because I think we need another starter, who will push Rafer into a backup role. Besides, he's probably looking for a lot of money.
I like the Toyota Center's flooring the way it is. And while it's affordable, there's no way that stuff holds up to all the pounding it would take during an NBA season. NO THANK YOU
