My wife and I have gotten into this discussion about having a party for our four-year-old, who is turning five, at one of these MOONWALK-inside places. I won't say which one I chose and which one she chose, but we're debating between 7pm on a Saturday or 10am the following Sunday. The advantages are numerous and disadvantages are also many. When would you prefer to have a party for a child turning 5 and why? You may have many children or one child, and that may push you to answer a certain way, but I want to hear some reasons. Those without kids can answer as well, but I am deciding it based on this poll and responses from people here at my work. Yes, you can ask questions. Yes, we are Mexican.
Damn, those times suck...Not only for you, but the other parents/kids...If this is it, I'd go with Sunday, the only problem is church...Saturday night would work, but its dark and too late for kids...Good luck...
Let me tell you once I visited Bounce U in Stafford/Sugarland it was the best place to go to for kids. We've had 4 birthdays there now. Parents love it because there kids are all tired after running and jumping..
Without a doubt go with sunday afternoon. I have 2 kids a 5 and 6 year old and have done many many kid parties. If you have the party on saturday night you are looking for trouble. My kids go to sleep at 8:30 every night. So if you have it from 7-9 chances are you are keeping some kids up past their normal bed time. This can lead to them being sleepy and not playing well together and just being grumpy altogether. Trust me go with sunday.
I agree with everyone else so far, that both times aren't real appealing. It really depends on the people you're inviting. If they are mainly church-goers you'll have a low turn-out on Sunday. If they are party people or people that go to bed early, then Saturday will be bad. If you could move the Saturday time back an hour or two it might work out better. And just to qualify myself I have a 5yo and one that turns 1 Saturday (party time is 10:30-Noon).
Awesome. rockHEAD, I think this is what makes you a great parent. Doing these things for your children that they will remember later. Now, as far as me coming here and asking for advice, I thought it would be unbiased for a poll, since I know most are like me (Rockets' Fans) and with good, stable families... unlike some jokers... Castor27 I think put it best. It matters to the people who go. In the latest parties my daughter has been, there are more schoolmates than family, but with ours it will be MANY MANY more family kids than schoolmates because, again, I am MEXICAN and we only have 2 cars . I will tell you later which, but one of us wants one time and the other another time. I just can't say, but some of you could figure it out. tested911, it's between http://www.PumpItUpparty.com on Mason and http://www.MonkeyBizness.com on the Beltway near West. With MonkeyBizness having more times available. We did consider www.uBounceit.com on the Beltway near Airport.
Sunday morning...all big kids are at church or sleeping. Gives the little kids time to play. Basically, the hours suck though...sorry.
Come on you're mexican.....we can hang with the late Saturday parties! Kid's party or not! haha. The last two parties I went to at Pump It Up were late ones and the kids were even younger (both turning 2) and it was just fine.
Even though I'm not a parent, I came in here and voted for Saturday night. There's this little thing called church that a lot of you seem to have forgotten about... a lot of people feel like it's a sign of misplaced priorities to skip it for some non-essential activity. Some may not have alternate services they can go to (earlier or later), and some parents may have obligations like teaching or music ministry.
