So I thought some of you who have little ones might throw around some suggestions. My niece and nephew flew in from S.F. and basicaly will be staying with me until September. Thier ages are 3 and 5 with the boy being the oldest.

The outdoor stuff might be out of the question considering our rainy summer. So aside from the standard Childrens Museum, swimming, park, & that playground in Memorial Mall are there any other fun activities around Houston? I live in the Westchase area.

I had a friend tell me about some indoor playground in Houston that hosts some B-day parties but you can only access it through an invite? Does this ring a bell???

Consider the Galleria if they like or know how to ice skate!

    Bowling is always fun!!!

That's all I can think of... no kids here!

Schlitterbahn in Galveston, the beach, and Kemah Boardwalk. None are in Houston, but all are within an hour. Hermann Park and Zoo are also nice options.

There are some indoor places that have inflatible stuff to play on that host parties. I think they are called Beyond Bound or something like that.

There is also the Incredible Pizza company that has video games and rides for small kids. (I call it the incredibly bad pizza company because their pizza sucks but the kids like it)

Uh I would suggest you make sure that the kids don't have any open wounds before going in the water. I saw on the news earlier this week that a man contracted flesh eating bacteria while fishing in Galveston! His legs might need to be amputated.

Or maybe, stay away from the beach after all.

I have an 8-year-old and a 6-year-old. We go to many places during the weekend and I try not to have them watching so much TV.

We're members of the Zoo and of the Natural Science Museum. Those are always a good getaway.

The Children's Zoo inside the regular Zoo, entrance is by the hospitals side. There is also the Children's Museum, Natural Science Museum, Planetarium, IMAX, Miller Outdoor Theatre, and the Fine Arts Museum all in the same vicinity. You would need about 4 days to see all of that. The nice thing is that you can also do a train ride with them through Hermann Park.

There are always nice public swimming pools if the kiddos have their swimming gear... for example: the one in Memorial Park is really clean.

Always stay  and drink lots of H2O.

Yeah, bouncing places are good, as well. There is a place like that called "Monkey Bizness" which is on the North Sam Houston Toll Road near West Road. They allow the kids to come in during the week for a small fee, not during parties, but they might have a change of schedules during the summer. I am not sure. I believe it might be "www dot monkeybizness dot com".

This is my 2 year old's favorite thing in the world. Seriously. He wakes up in the morning saying, "Ride it, choo-choo." He's constantly telling me about how my dad took him to ride this train.

You could set up a few play dates with this woman .

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - A 20-year-old Syracuse woman who left children in her care to go pose for nude photos is facing several charges of endangering the welfare of a child.

Police say Michelle Rendino was supposed to be watching four young girls Wednesday when she left them alone and went into the woods near Syracuse's Inner Harbor to have a man take nude photos of her.

A man fishing saw the children crying and called police. When police arrived, the oldest girl — a 6-year-old — told police that "Aunt Michelle" went into the woods to take "nasty pictures."
    Story continues below ↓advertisement

Rendino says she asked the man to take nude photos of her so she could get back at her ex-boyfriend.

The children were returned safely to their mother.

I'm actully planning a trip to the New Brauhnfells location. Gonna make a weekend of it and stop in Austin for a visit to my Alma Matta and pay respects to DKR and the Great VY.

Excellent!! I found them online and they have single day passes.

I've never heard of this place. Checked them out and they do offer single day passes. Sweet!!! I'm not so sure about taking them swimming with all this rain. I might bust out my old Entertech water artillary though.

Oh and I realized I can take them to 24hr fitness and leave them at their Kids Corner. Thank god I have an all sport pass coz the qaulity of the Kids Corner correlates with your membership type.

Find the closest body of water and let them do some unsupervised swimming.

I think there are some movie theaters who do free kids movies during the day. I don't know anything about it though.
