Palin used a lobby firm to secure $27 million in earmarked government funding as mayor Something John McCain has been a staunch critic of......... You would think they would have vetted this stuff before picking her. Another article about the sloppy vetting done by McCain If McCain can't do a proper vetting...he is not qualified to run this country. DD
Thank you for posting actual issue related topics regarding Palin. It is something McCain claims to be against, but he hasn't been the biggest upholder of this principle himself. In fairness I don't blame a mayor for trying to get funds for their city. It just doesn't look good as someone running for VP is trying to claim they are for reduced fed spending.
The 2nd article is very interesting, in that they checked with a lot of people that would be talked to in a vetting process, and not one of them was contacted. Also, that McCain was basically locked into a corner by the pro life crowd. Interesting. DD
This is hilarious considering that than DNC did not vet Obama prior to his coronation. Let's see here... racist pastor, racist wife, sat on a board alongside a terrorist, may have held dual-citizenship at one point in his life, has cozied up with Louis Farrakhan, has a list of anti-white friends longer than 100 names long.... but we are concerned about Sarah Palin's 17-year old daughter's sex life. All this line of attack by the libs is doing is spurring even greater force to be used against Obama. Believe me, the ammo about to be dropped on him is unbelievable.
TJ: "Don't mess with us....or else......." Libs: " Or else what?" TJ: " Or Else, that's what !" Too danged funny, Palin was a bad choice, her record is fair game now, and it is spotty at best, it is becomming more clear that it was a pandering choice to the religious right, and that McCain actually wanted Lieberman but that would piss off the Narrow minded people on the far right. Oh well, better for our country that they go back to being marginalized. DD
hilarious, you're comparing CHOOSING a running mate to people actually voting for obama. all the supposed "issues" you bring up were issues while people were actually VOTING for obama. analogy failure as usual
The McCain camp is on defense when they should be playing offense. Not the way convention week is supposed to go. And they have only themselves to blame - do you think they would have to dispatch a damage control team to Connecticut to check up on Lieberman? Nope. Lack of preparation = epic fail
No offense, man, but I've read your post 3 times and it still makes no sense. Your non-sensical post notwithstanding, you simply can not equate the sins and transgressions of the most under-vetted candidate in the history of politics (Obama) with the sex life of Palin's daughter and decades-old-drinking-life of Palin's husband. If that's your standard, then Obama's cocaine usage would disqualify him.
why are you guys letting jorge win the thread? he has cast the SPELL OF DISTRACTION and you are slashing and hacking at thin air. The real issue is McCain's failure in regards to the Palin bumble.
It's clear DaDakota that you are unable to objectively analyze this issue if that's the level of thought you are capable of putting into your post. The 'vetting' gambit being played right now by Obama and his willing media accomplices is a pandora's box that is waiting to be opened... on himself. Trust me when I say this: There are some bombs to be dropped on Obama's magic pony that will leave you with mouth agape.
Well, it is clear that McCain in his one big decision so far has come up lacking. Palin is a poor poor choice, and was clearly NOT vetted properly. Another strike against McCain and the senile campaign. DD
DaDakota -- Let me ask you a question. Keep it real for me one time here. Would you be less inclined to vote for Obama if you knew that an anti-semetic, radical Islamic preacher shepherded his admission into Harvard? Would that make you suspicious of his motives?
Not one bit, a man is made up of many life experiences, I think it would make him more wordly to understand other issues. We have had enough of the Ostrich approach, time for some real world leadership. And this thread is about the poor vetting process that McCain clearly failed at doing. I do not want a 44 year old VP with very little experience one heart beat away, especially one with judgment as poor as John McCain's clearly is.... DD
I think that the Republicans have flat out nearly ruined this country, and have swung so far to the religious right that we need to swing back before McCainism takes over..... This country needs a liberal viewpoint to right the ship. Gone are the days of fiscal responsibilities of the republican party, George W has overseen the largest growth of the US government in history, and has overseen the largest debt. Clinton may not have been perfect, but he was a million times better as President than George W Bush. We need to moderate this country, get people to pay their fair share of taxes, and right the ship. NOW IS THE TIME. DD
