Carl Cameron just broke on Foxnews that the McCain camp was very down on Palin's intelligence after the pick. There were several things he revealed, such as her not knowing how municipal, state, and federal government functioned and not understanding "American Exceptionalism." Apparently she also refused a prep for the Couric interview. But, the highlight, was she did not know Africa was a continent. When discussing South Africa, she believed it was just the southern part of the country of Africa and did not understand that Africa was a continent made up of several countries.
Holy crap. Carl Cameron just revealed major dirt on this. Apparently the McCain campaign disliked her big time.

The dislike of McCain's people for Palin is old news. She's been called a "diva" and "whack job" behind her back. It's possible McCain's folks will try to destroy her by shoveling a lot more dirt out to the media to make an example out of her. This is what happens when you step out of line and put your own future interests ahead of the candidate that put you on the map.
Longer video that includes the bit about the Couric interview prep. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/MWZHTJsR4Bc&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/MWZHTJsR4Bc&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Actually the whole story was that the Romney supporters who moved over to McCain to help out, Don't like her. They are the ones spewing out the doesn't know that Africa is a continent. They are definitely preparing 2012. I am not defending her she seems congenial enough but definitely wasn't up to speed. Still some of the blame has to go with McCains aides. It was a stupid move to hold her back with no interviews and then feed her to the wolves. The biggest blunder in the campaign was ... "the fundamentals of our economy are strong." After the Gibson and Couric interviews. The Dems ate her up after that and she never was the same. I still get the impression she is a bright lady and she wasn't making as many gafes as Joe the Biden... but expect to hear more dirt on her as Romney's crew set their eyes on 2012. And if half of Hillarys camp came over we would be talking differently tonight. Palin was a hail Mary for McCain and she dropped the ball but it was an impossible catch.
And so the Palin smear campaign kicks into high gear... Dude, she didn't just drop the ball. She bobbled it right into the hands of a defender, who proceeded to run the ball back for an easy TD.
Well, these idiots picked her, and for them to throw more dirt on her says more about themselves than her.
To be fair, McCain picked her, apparently without much input from anyone else (including these guys who are b****ing about her now).
Sorry, not going to debate this. I disagree but we have a new president elect. And I for one am doing my best to support him.
She did not know which countries are included in NAFTA? LOL, now that's funny. I really believe if McCain had picked a better VP we might just have seen a different result yesterday. Bobby Jindal for 2012? Yes we can.
of course the palin team will try to defend her lack of knowelege by blamming it on Romeny crew... Just give it up Old Man Rock. This lady was an embarrassment to our presidential political process and our nation as a whole. If you think that one is a very bright women, then your in the minority on this one.
I agree. As much as Sarah Palin came across to most of us like she was a complete moron.........the blame should be put 100% on John McCain. I dont blame Sarah for not being up to speed on many issues. She is very new and green when it comes to politics. McCain should have dug a little deeper instead of making the "hail mary" throw. Palin saw this as a chance to further her career and put her name on the map. Boy did she underestimate how critical and hard the process really is. As much as she is now a lameduck former VP canidate, I kind feel sorry for her.
