The Alaska legislative report, by a bi-partisan committe, on "Trooper-Gates" has been released. The report concluded that Sarah Palin had committed ethical violations on over 17 occassions.
I was just about to make a thread. http://www.adn.com/palin/story/552393.html I guess the only saving grace for Palin is that they said that refusing to fire Wooten wasn't he sole reason for Monegan's firing. I guess it could have been worse.
Also, 8 republicans and 4 democrats voted to release this report to the public, so you can't exactly say this is a partisan effort.
initiate countdown to McCain campaign labeling the announcement a partisan smear effort, in collaboration with the liberal media. ...
abused the powers of her office eh? Where have I heard of that before? But darn it, that's what mavericks do, right? PALIN/McSAME '08
The AP has indicated that even though the vote to make the report public was unanimous, there was disagreement about the findings in the report.
"We're gonna get in there and get all mavericky! And a little abusey... I don't mean Gary aBusey either! (wink)"
What?! The treasonist secessionist was found guilty of ethics violations by 8 republicans?! No surprise there. If you can't trust her with Alaska, how can anybody trust her with the nation?
...and this kills the chances that Palin will ever be allowed to talk to the media again. It's only hardcore right wing mobs from now on out for her.....
Damn! I wanted a troopergate aftermath interview with Katie Couric. It would be the next Tina Fey hit!
The guy was a scumbag and tasered his 10 year old step son. I would have done the same thing if I was her. You betcha.
A scumbag or not there is a reason we have laws, and regulations. We have the rule of law. If you would have abused your authority, I hope you never are in a position of authority. Authority should be entrusted to people who won't abuse it.
I found this was pretty funny. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/qCZcrK6J9Xk&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/qCZcrK6J9Xk&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
I debated this with a couple of ladies in my office. No matter how clearly I explained it, they couldn't (or refused to) understand how serious it is for an elected official to abuse their authority. They thought Palin did the right thing and nothing was going to change their mind.
That's sad. I guess it's hard for some to see it. I'm sure if their boss at your work started pressuring immediate supervisors to fire them it would become a little more clear.
