OSHKOSH, Wis. - A woman given the choice between giving up her family's Green Bay Packers' tickets or going to jail has chosen to turn her back on football.

A judge ordered Sharon E. Rosenthal of Appleton to decide whether to spend 90 days in jail or donate her four seats in the Packers' three-game season package next season to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Rosenthal, 59, took more than $3,000 from labor union accounts before she left the organization, according to a criminal complaint. She was sentenced Friday in Winnebago County Circuit Court on one felony count of theft.

"She is going to give up the Packer tickets," defense attorney Kevin Musolf said Wednesday. "They don't have them yet, but when they get them, arrangements will be made."

The donation is part of Rosenthal's two-year probation period.

So be it, it that's what she spent the stolen money on.

She should still server some time.

She is not a true sports fan.

I'd take jail any day and twice on Sunday (non NFL season) to keep multiple game tickets for a team I love.

I've never been to jail, but my guess is you are alone on this.

Maybe if she was giving up an entire season, and even then, only if it was giving up here rights to future seasons...but 3 months in the slammer...no thanks.

Well, she IS a female Packers fan, so there's a good chance she'd be the biggest, baddest woman in her cell block. I doubt she'd be anybody's b****...I'm thinking she could do three months in the hole easily...

And about 10 minutes into it, you'd realize your mistake.

I'd give up watching (not just going) sporting events for a year to not spend another second in jail.

    another second?

dude, there's good thread potential there.

With as much as I love sports, and if it was a team I held near and dear to my heart, I think I could tough out 90 days.

    A year? That's a different story.

90 days in jail would definitely be less painful than watching the Longhorns play the Sooners. :D

the good dr's post may have been in jest...

...but is anyone else smirking at how this self proclaimed germafile, anal-retentive, anti-social sports-nut would fare at the county jail sharing a cell with Bubba from arkansas... :D

....but at least he'd have time to update g-sports again....

LOL, because it is true.:p ;)

    drapg,

Who are you kidding? You wouldn't last a day let alone a week but neither would I. But the point is that was a no-brainer - give up the tickets.
