Updating a previous item, the Pacers and Grizzlies are working on a sign-and-trade deal involving O.J. Mayo and free agent Josh McRoberts. The Grizzlies and Pacers nearly swapped the two players for one another at last season's trade deadline, and now each club has renewed interest in rekindling the talks. McRoberts would be signed and traded to Memphis, while Mayo would be a solid pickup for the Pacers should the team be unable to land Jamal Crawford. Indiana has to find a player who can create his own shot, and Mayo can do exactly that. An escape from Memphis could really help Mayo's fantasy value for the coming season. Marc Stein of ESPN reports that the Pacers are "making progress" with free agent David West on a two-year, $20 million contract. Celtics beat writer A. Sherrod Blakely tweeted that the chances of a deal bringing West to the team was looking "slim," and Stein almost immediately followed it up with a report that the Pacers were closing in on a potential deal with West. If he does land in Indiana, West would be penciled in as the starting power forward and hold solid fantasy value as long as he can remain healthy following reconstructive knee surgery. Looks like the Pacers could become a pretty good team this season... C: Hibbert/Foster PF: West/Hansbrough SF: Granger/Geroge SG: Mayo/Jones PG: Collison/Hill
They have George Hill as the backup. They will be fine. Collison and West have chemistry from NO days too.
actually he plays a lot of SG, with Granger at the 3, since George is quicker. In that Bulls series, George defended Derrick Rose far better than anyone else. They fixed their cap woes and have some decent talent, though no real superstar. Deep though...
I love Paul George. He plays hard and he's got athleticism. He just needs polish. Definite All star potential
Paul George is a franchise player level talent. If he gets PT in the right situation he will flourish.
wow, that is a solid 9 man rotation. The only hole is at center where Hibbert can be really good or just disappear, but foster is reliable but underwhelming. Other than that, George hill, Paul george, Hansborough makes for some real offensive firepower off the bench. If collison can get some confidence back(he was huge 2 years ago), with Mayo, Granger, West, they just have so many weapons.
