For the last five years, I have had fiber optics running through my home from an independent ISP servicing our neighborhood. This fall, I will be moving to Boston. Looks like my ISP choice over there is comcast and verizon. If you are a current user of the two, do you have trouble viewing P2P Rockets games, using like SopCast or TVUplayer. I don't want to sign up a ISP and only to find out later that it bans P2P services. Thank you in advance

Is Verizon DSL? If so, this is really a standard DSL versus Cable choice. I've had both. DSL tends to be more consistent, and sometimes you can decent packages speedwise. Cable tends to be faster in bursts, but inconsistent.

For instance, my DSL in Houston was always steady as a rock, day and night. I moved to Austin (TW Cable) and the cable modem in my sister's house is slow as mud during the day, but super fast later in the evening. However, I've lived in places where the cable was fast all the time.

Personally, I'd try cable first because you can always cancel it and get DSL later. It tends to be quicker and cheaper to install than DSL.

    Thanks.

Last time I used cable was 5 years ago, it was OK. I think Verizon is probably DSL. Speed I am not too worried about. I searched on the net, looks like verizon might block P2P packets, that's what I worry about.
