Yeah, no; Combs is just a violent, ill-tempered jerk. He had brilliant timing and managed to both mainstream and fully monetize street culture, but stuff like this bubbles up every so often shows a break with reality or basic social norms, like that Grubman chick who ran over a bunch of people outside a club. He should be grateful the NCAA and sportswriters got a backbone in the last thirty years and investigate programs and coach behavior inside and out, if he tried that crap around a bunch of roided up 250 pound teenagers in the '80s he wouldn't have made it out alive. Heck if he tried it at an SEC or SWC campus in the '70s he'd be another Hoffa.

Former UCLA coach Rick Neuheisel recruited Justin Combs to the Bruins and said Combs' father, P. Diddy, had no idea who Neuheisel was when Diddy and Combs came to UCLA for a campus tour.

Neuheisel made the comments on SiriusXM's College Sports Nation on Tuesday. Neuheisel, a UCLA alum, now does college football radio and television. Diddy was arrested Monday after allegedly confronting UCLA strength coach Sal Alosi and then attempting to go after another member of UCLA's staff with a kettlebell. The incident happened after Combs, a redshirt junior cornerback had been removed from an offseason workout by Alosi.

"I did recruit Justin Combs and Sean as his father, I took them on their campus tour," Neuheisel said. "As a matter of fact, like a half hour into it, he asked me who I was."
