I wish all our players were like this...I'm liking Cuttino more and more these days. "We cut it to four, made stupid plays, and that was the game," said Mobley, who had eight points in the final five minutes but made three turnovers in the last 2:08. "But when a team comes out aggressive at the beginning and you don't, and you wait to the fourth quarter with four or five minutes left, forget it. "I played a terrible game defensively, terrible. I tried to turn it on late. You can't do that in the NBA. I got frustrated, let it get to me. I had five turnovers. I have to look myself in the mirror and be more ready, more focused for a game like this." I've also seen quotes from Van Gundy occasionally something to the effect of >I< need to coach better. You have to be true to yourself and recognize when your not performing and admit it.
I like the words but I am forced to think about a comment that Bill Parcells said last year. He said, "Players know what to say but don't always believe what they are saying so I don't put a lot of stock into quotes." I will say that it sure beats the hell out of some of the quotes you hear from AI. Maybe Cat means what he said but we will just have to wait to see if he plans on doing anything about it. His bad pass to a wide open Yao Ming during the closing minutes that resulted in a steal really hurt last night. Each of the Rockets could stand a little time in front of the mirror after last night. I thought Yao did a good job of stepping up in the 4th quarter but the offensive rebound that he gave up to AK47 was another play that really killed us down the stretch.
Ditto what Crash said. Steve makes all the right comments (except when talking superbowl), then goes out and does the same old thing.
