I know they've been hard pressed to sell tickets, but still a great gesture from the owner. Linky: Hawksquawk ----- Since I became an owner, I have from time to time checked RealGM and Hawksquawk to get a sense of the thoughts of our most dedicated fans. In the past several weeks, I have closely read your comments on the Joe Johnson trade and the conflict within our ownership group. I was struck by your passion for the Hawks. It's that passion that we desparately need as we build this young team. Over the past year, several of you have chatted about meeting at a game and I would love to assist in making this possibe. So I've arranged the following: Between now and September 1st you can purchase lower level tickets to the Hawks game on November 10th vs. the LA Clippers -- for only $10 each! These seats are normally $55! Plus, I will choose two of you that purchase these tickets to sit with me in my floor seats and watch the Hawks Rise Up and beat the Clippers! Here is how to take advantage of this special offer. Click on the link below and type in the word owner in the "Enter Special Offer Code or Password" box and order your tickets to this game. http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/0E003B10EA794692?artistid=805898&major catid=10004&minorcatid=7 Look forward to meeting you at the game and an exciting season ahead. Sincerely, Bruce Levenson ----- I know I'd waste no time in buying these tickets if I were in Atlanta. In other news, it seems that the JJ trade will finally go through as Belkin has reportedly agreed to be bought out as posted on Hawksquawk.
How great would it be if the Rockets would do something like that here at the Clutchfans bbs??!?!?!?!!?
Well, the Hawks are trying to rebuild the team and their fanbase. Getting people to actually fill up the seats who are real fans is a good thing. The Rockets don't really need help selling tickets. Though, it would be nice if management would reach out to us diehards who don't make "Lower Bowl" money and give us a chance to experience the game down there.
WOW.. that's too cool, good job by the Hawks owner.. I'll still take Les doing at what he does best, having a winning team on the floor most every year over 10 dollar tickets..
Yea that's smart thinking...doing this special against the Clippers to get a win! Hope it doesn't backfire because the clips might not be so bad this year...
I've looked at hawksquawk a few times was surprised how passionate and knowledgeable some of the posters are for such a pathetic franchise. It's not like Clutchfans but still better than what I expected.
Come on, Charlie! Hold on to that ticket! Run for it, Charlie! Run straight home and don't stop 'til you get there!
They are doing something for us.....it's called 'actually getting good players and making the right roster improvements instead of just signing one hit wonders like the hawks and other teams are doing' sweepstakes.
Like I've been saying year after year. Les needs to show his appreciation by letting everyone come to a Rockets game for free. And that means every seat. First come first serve and you would have a line 2 hours before game time outide. It could be against the sorriest team at the end of the season. Common Les make it happen 1 game out of the season against sorry competition. Why I say sorry competition because Les knows people pay to see good matches not no names like bobcats and hawks. How many times have we seen those empty seats in the lower bowl against these type of teams. Frankly I think it would be worh it to him and the Rockets organization and even the Players. Les would make alot of money of the concession stands where thats basically a rip-off ( cough cough ) The Rockets organization could pull a PR stunt to sell more season tickets and and more fan fare. And the Rockets players can see who the true fans are ( who dont make Mega bucks) Frankly I cant afford to go lowerbowl because I have 3 kids. But you bet I would go to a fan appreciation day event where every seat is free and is on a first come first serve basis. I would even camp the night lol It would be that 1 chance in a lifetime to sit courtside and see Tracy and Yao even if it is against a low seeded team.
Desperate move by a desperate franchise. FYI, in the playoffs, the 10 winners of the rowdiest fan contest got to sit in the box at midcourt.
