Is it just me or are have there been a lot of *good* free agents signed for astronomical numbers? There was one player coming into this offseason I thought deserved the Max, our own Steve Francis. However, Shawn Marion and Raef LaFrentz got huge raises. Marion is pretty good, Im not so sure he deserved anymore than $8 or 9 million per year, but yet he signed for $13 million. LaFrentz certainly did not deserve a big contract at all. He wasnt even that big of a contributor in the playoff, but somehow he was still able to get the max as well. Then there is Mike Bibby. I know he was a stud in the playoffs, but Im not so sure he deserves it either because he had to wait until the playoffs to really step his game up. During the regular season he only averaged like 14ppg and 5apg. What do you all think?

    o-ver-paid (1): see Kemp, Shawn.

    o-ver-paid (2): see Howard, Juwon.

Those two players are the definitions of overpaid - some team fell in love with them and signed them to a huge contract that they could never live up to.

Every player in the NBA is overpaid.

They play BASKETBALL for crying out loud, it is not like they are CEO's.

Marion is a stud, just check out his stats. He deserves the $13MM per year deal...considering some of the other guys still above him. Its ridiculous the amount of money they are getting now, no one player should get more than $20MM per year...and those should be MJs, Shaq, Kobe, etc.
