I am waiting to get flamed by the likes of SamFisher and others, but what do you guys think the Over/Under will be defined as in terms of the Democratic Tax Break threshold? It has gone from $250,000 to $150,000. What do you guys think it will be?
No flame here, but there is a huge flaw in your poll. I'm sorry, but I'm serious. Do you mean the level above which taxes will be raised? (e.g. households making over $250k) Do you mean the level under which taxes will be cut? (e.g. households making under $200k) And then you have to, as with any tax code distinguish between individuals, joint-filers, people with dependents, and businesses. It's just not fair to have this mythical "there should be one number!" American voters can hold more than one number in their heads. Cheers
Every time the government tries to define rich (most recently with the stimulus bribes), I just barely meet the standard. I'm certainly not rich, and not really close, but we have too large a middle class, and way too few rich people to really have a "tax the rich" policy with any kind of meaning. So, playing the odds, taxes will be raised on me, and I'll just barely meet the standards.
hey mccain. if you want an honest poll put up honest numbers instead of this bull****. however this is my understanding: there will be NO tax increase for individuals making under 200kISH and families with 250kISH. there will be a tax CUT from CURRENT BUSH levels for 100-150kish. and the tax burden will remain relatively the same for those in the middle. which means making the bush tax cuts permanent or at least re-passing them for a while.
Based on your astounding lack of understanding of the candidate's plans after a year long campaign that's been more intensely covered than any in history, it sounds like a flame by SamFisher or others would be well-deserved. Why post a political discussion if you don't even know the most basic facts about the candidates' plans?
While drinking the Kool-Aid of the likes of Barack Obama, and being the socialist liberal that you are, you believe that you are more intelligent because you are classified as a "liberal" than say a Republican or Libertarian. Being flamed by the likes of Basso and Trader_Jorge, are very well deserved. Major is why the liberal Kool-Aid has not worked on me and many others.
So your response to not knowing basic facts about the candidate's tax plan is that the rest of us are drinking Kool-aid. Absolutely brilliant. Does it both you one tiny bit that your original post was factually incorrect? Or are you just beyond caring about basic facts in politics?
According to the NLM (National Liberal Media), CNN, ABC, etc. etc. It hasn't right?? Are you a small business owner??
Actually, according to reality it hasn't changed. In right-wing-blog world it has, but otherwise it hasn't at all. And yes, I am a small business owner (two of them). What's your point?
No. I'm the executive leader of a non-profit. The myth that the tax plan has changed was based on Biden misspeaking one time in one of hundreds of speeches. It hasn't changed. Go to barackobama.com and educate yourself.
I say we should have 0% tax and get rid of the government totally, that should make the Republicans and Libertarians real happy. I mean who needs an armed force and police and fire fighters and EPA and FDA and etc.
Any number of places. For starters, you're reading and trusting worldnetdaily. Obama's tax plan has been the same since the beginning of the campaign. If you make under 250K, you will not see a tax increase. If you make under 200K, you will see a tax cut. Period. It has not changed, it has not changed and it has not changed. The idea that it has is a lie. And the believers of that lie are suckers.
Your fault is getting your information at WorldNetDaily. These are all very different things: 1. Tax raise level 2. Tax cut level 3. Levels for single people 4. Levels for married couples Again, learn the basic facts. Preferably NOT from freaking World Net Daily or other right-wing blog type sites. You'd have had a full year to learn them. The fact that you still don't know them a day before the election is disturbing, to say the least.
