Well, My grandma tells me she was opening up the oven door and it magically falls off. So, I get home thinking its simple to put back on, but turns out it is not. Can anyone please, please, please offer some suggestions. The hinges are weird or maybe im just missing a piece? Maybe Im just a r****d making this harder than it really is? Please advise?

Check the springs. It happened to my mom's dishwasher at home, the springs broke so every time she opened it, the door would come crashing down instead of it easing down. If it is an old door, I wouldn't be suprised at all if the hinges just broke when the door came down.

As far as fixing it, I have no idea.

He's coming on Tuesday, and a $80 dollar "put it back on fee" is coming with him. I have till Wed to do it myself and cancel. The prices goes up if there is anything actually broken.

Does one really need a door on their oven? In the winter time it provides great heat. In the summer time, well its kinda chilly right now.

Do the arms appear to be too wide for the door's slots?

No, they don't. I slide the door on one arm, and it doesn't stay. It seems like i have to twist or do something else to make it stay. Its crazy.

Just duct tape some cardboard to the oven when you want to use it. As long as the fire doesn't directly touch the cardboard, you should be fine...

Maybe its just me but if my oven was old enough for the door to fall off, I'd buy a new one.

Nobody thought about this. tim562 did say it was his grandmother's, and you know how those grandmas love those old appliances.

So tim, was it the right door or the left door that fell off? :D
