Orlando works out Webber details - According to the Orlando Sentinel: With some maneuvering that could send both Darrell Armstrong and Bo Outlaw packing, the Magic would be able to keep Grant Hill and Tracy McGrady while signing Chris Webber this summer. The a free-agent-to-be, reiterated Orlando is on his short list. Sources close to the Magic and one Eastern GM say Webber could be signed by Orlando if he were willing to settle for a first-year contact of around $9-$10 million. (poor baby) To afford Webber, the Magic have to deal enough players to clear cap room. Armstrong, Outlaw and either Michael Doleac or Pat Garrity might have to go, basically leaving the Magic with a three-man team -- a three-man all-star team, that is.' Webber calls Magic an 'intriguing' situation, and has no hard feelings toward Orlando, which dealt him on draft-day in '93 to Golden State for Penny Hardaway. 'They have a great young nucleus,' Webber said of the Magic. 'The main thing with me is that I don't have to be 'the Man' on the team. That could be Grant or Tracy. . .That said, Webber also teases an number of other hopeful teams - The Suns? 'I know Jason Kidd is all business. I'd love to play with someone like that.' The Rockets? 'They're my favorite backcourt to watch, and I know they want me there.' The Sonics? Webber said he loves Gary Payton too. The Clippers? Well, he's gotta draw the line somewhere... If we can't get Webber because he decides to go to Oralando, would it make good basketball sense to send a mid first rounder and a number two to Orlando for Outlaw and Armstrong? I don't think we could get away with sending any of players because as the article indicated they would be trying to clear some cap space. Next, and this is just dreamcasting, we could package Armstrong, Cato, and a number one to the Grizzles for Reef. Starting lineup: 5 - MO 4 - Outlaw 3 - Reef 2 - Anderson/Mobley (either) 1 - Franchise LIKE ------------------ Life is but a dream
I would not mind getting Outlaw at all. I have always admired that guys hustle and heart out on the basketball court. Of course, what would you expect from a UH player. ------------------ "Of course, everything looks bad if you remember it!" Homer Simpson
Mo won't play C... Mo is 6'9 Outlaw is 6'6, or 6'7 at best This makes our SF the taleest player....Now, the frontcourt of Outlaw and Mo would be a fast and furious one....while Reef is more of a half-court player.... It just wouldn't work.... ------------------
If MO, BO, Reef front court is too small. Maybe we could trade Armstrong and our number one to move up in the draft and get a big body (e.g. Curry) ------------------ Life is but a dream
