Out of curiosity, can half-Africans call full Africans by the N word?

This is a purely curious and innocent query: Are half-Africans eligible to call a full African by the N word?

Oh, why yes. The Supreme Court decreed this possible in their landmark case in 1966, Smith vs Georgia.

Are you asking if a mixed person, like myself, can call an African-American n!99@?

about 2 months ago, the girl I'm dating was upset when I texted her 'hey mami'. She thought I was calling her 'mammy'. Before that incident, I had no idea what the word meant. I had to drive to her lab to explain myself.

This could easily turn into an epic thread of anger from different people, but I'll just keep my part brief.

Like Lil Pun, I am mixed. My father is African American and my mother is Caucasian.

Now to the use of the "N word"...

Personally, I used to believe the word to be extremely offensive at first, but now not so much. It's all about the context.

While I would NEVER call any of my "full African"(as OP wrote) friends that word, I do UNDERSTAND and am not offended when African Americans use that word in conversation with one another. It's more of a term of brotherhood, and as cliched as it sounds, taking something "bad" and making it "good".

    All right, that was enough.

Please no one turn this thread into why other races SHOULDN'T be allowed to use that word with African Americans. It's obvious.

Africans dont use that word. The few who may are just copying what they see on American movies, and music videos etc.

Richard Pryor once said he stopped using the word after a trip to Africa, where he didnt here one single person using it. He said the reason was, because there were none. (Meaning there's no such thing). He never used it again.

Even Paul Mooney, who was nototious for using it, said he would not any longer after the Kramer guy lost his screws.

I just lost a very good friend due to a disagreement on how its to be used (if at all) My boy agreed with me as to not use it, his wife disagreed and was cool with it. After losing a friend of 9 years behind it, I vowed not to use it or allow it in my element ever again. Not in my house or anywhere around me. As not to have any friends or family to confuse my stance on the words useage.

I'm starting to somewhat understand this thinking...but still disagree with it.

I simply can't imagine it anywhere else...

Woman to Woman: "what's up c*nt?"
    White to White: "hey honkey!"
Gay to Gay: "hello you big silly f*****!"

While the N word has been picked up by African Americans and "made their own", I also believe it has prolonged the negative use of the word at the same time.

The three scenarios you cannot imagine I actually see frequently.

I see women use the word b**** the same way.

I see white males say "what up white boy" often.

I know some gay people that actually say *** to each other as well.

according to my black neighbors, it's NOT OK for black people to call black people the N word.
