It's hard for guys to give their all to the team when the highest paid player and self professed leader is acting like he doesn't care and playing like a scrub. But look at the way that our guys go out and compete short handed. This is the time to appreciate the character of the roster we've assembled. Yao, Battier, Scola, Alston, Barry, these veterans are showing their true colors by sticking together and playing hard when it would be easy to point fingers and find excuses. I'm not sure what Artest's reaction is going to be since he's been injured, but hopefully he'll continue to play hard and give his all when he comes back.

We don't have many guys that will verbally inspire a team with flowery speeches, but we do have lots of veterans that lead by example. I'm glad to see that Brooks, Landry, Wafer and the young guys seem to be following their lead.

I think the character of the guys that are playing now, is very good, and can carry this team.

Hopefully, they can bring up those that lack character.....

Another cleverly disguised T-Mac hate thread.

No offense to the OP, but only T-Mac hate will come out of this. At this stage, anything related to T-mac leads to heated arguements.

This will last at least another 2 weeks till McGrady returns so that we can rejudge him. Guess it's all whiners (ironically) beating the dead horse till gold comes out from the crap.

the op opened his post with "It's hard for guys to give their all to the team when the highest paid player and self professed leader is acting like he doesn't care and playing like a scrub".

me like the "self professed leader" expression.

Now it's time to put all this behind and focus on our games. We'll see how T-Mac and the entire team respond. We still want to reach the WCF, don't we ?

now this i strongly agree. the team as well as we fans need to look forward and put the bad stuff behind us.

we've talked about the bad stuff enough already. now let's pay attention to if the team is moving forward. i know they've had good practices since the lakers game.

Yes, current Rockets team can win it all this year. Without TMac and Ron, they still can win 50. Battier/Scola/Rafer are leaders and winners. a health rockets definitely will beat lakers in 5-6 games. They just need be health and play together. I see a #7/#8 seed win a WC this year. They will break records of 94/95 Rockets.

I will tell you something but don't get offended.

You are all boring with Tracy McGrady stories and his lack of this or that.
I'm full of it, aren't there enough threads about McGrady being such a bad teamamate/player/no heart/no working technique?

Watching other teams like the Lakers makes me realize how little our players complain too even though they have 10x more reason to than the Fakers.

Wow - is this the only t-mac bashing thread on the first page now!

I'm just so happy that the character of this board is finally improving!

Having character is good but I watched the loss the LA. We put up a good fight but I am afraid several of players are just plain brick throwers. I don't know what happened to Battier and Brooks but during the LA game, they just lost their shot (I know Battier nailed three in the last few min) and showing lack of confidence. As for Rafer and Hayes, well, they just can't shoot (almost every throw is a sure brick) at the moment so they pass the ball around. Von Wafer was hot though and he kept us close.
