(Chi., Min. and Tor.) I don't know if I'm just being paranoid, but I really would like to see Yao play less minutes in these games. It would be the perfect time to play Deke more plus Landry should be back. We should keep Yao's minutes in check since we have a pretty good cushion (+16 over .500), and unleash the beast in the playoffs.
Definitely. From here on out, Adelman has to strike a fine balance among winning enough games, fine-tuning the team, and avoiding burnout.
no worries.....yao's averaging 32 minutes per game. people got to stop freaking out. the rockets need to build up momentum for the playoffs and every game counts. this is toward the end of the season and that's when the rotation should be getting set and guys need to have momentum.
Cleveland played the Rockets totally wrong tonight. all wrong. Half court offense against our defense?.....especially for a team that is reliant on one all star? Mike Brown gaffed. I see 3 wins pushing this streak to 9.
Yao will get his break when Landry comes back, of if we get an early blowout. I really doubt the quality of opponent would factor in at all.
These are the stretches where the Rockets have to keep strolling. Can't underestimate any of these teams...especially Toronto and Chicago.
Cleveland played the way they always play. They have no experience playing bigs. They have Wallace and igaulkas they usually come out ahead in low post matchups. Not against Yao. We always have a harder time with teams who have quick undersized bigs because they have learned to smother there guy with speed to make up for height and girth.
I'm also looking forward to seeing if we can continue to put away scrub teams finally now we don't have T-Mac. Rockets need to keep winning and not to drop to bad teams like we have this season.... keeping our eye on third place and not over our shoulders.
so basically you just agreed with me. to a finer T. Mike Brown had the tape, he watched it and still failed miserably. but......... good post.
Looking back this season, we have many tough losses against so-called scrub teams. In NBA, no teams should be underestimated. You gonna pay if you overlook anyone We need to keep our momentum, keep heart, keep winning
Very true. IIRC among the potentially playoff-bound teams, we have one of the worst records against under .500 opponents. They Rockets are in no position to underestimate anyone.
Good observation. Mike Brown has been a "gaff". He and Danny Ferry have tried to build the Cavs in the image of their former team, the Spurs. They passed when the Spurs offered them Scola and realized too late that they needed another scorer like Mo Williams. Not that he's headed for the HoF, but Larry Hughes went from standing around at the arc for the Cavs to being wanted by the D'Antoni Knicks. 90% of this board thinks it's only defense that wins Championships. But it's balance of O and D in half-court and transition that truly does. I like the Cavs, but serioulsy question how far they'll go with their own version of Jeff Van Gundy's myopic view of the game.
After three, then Utah in a B2B. The B2B is against a two-day rested foe which always seems to have our number.
