Who cares about making the playoffs? With guards like these, we'll be first round fodder anyway. The NBA is a perimeter-oriented league now, and we need to get better perimeter players. Aaron Brooks, a rookie, has more clutchness and composure than 90% of our guards right now. The book on Houston = just penetrate and constantly drive against our guards and put pressure on them and we're done.

Aaron Brooks does there was no reason that Rick Adelman overplayed the starting guards tonight.

If they are going to struggle, put in Mike James...try someone else.

What happened to the 2 penetrating players on the court at the same time to punish teams for overplaying Yao?

That's why we need T-Mac and all of those idiots proclaiming that we are better off without t-mac should be banned from this forum for lack of bball knowledge.

Our guards, except for McGrady and Brooks, suck.

so i remember there was a post about rafer finally have the chains released and given the freedom to penetrate and create plays. that's great, but i notice his turnovers are increasing. i really hope he can fix that and still maintain the aggressiveness. but the turnovers are the reason we blew a win against the sixers, HORRIBLE

Yao was being fronted the entire 4th quarter and yet neither Luther nor Rafer even attempted a single lob pass to him. I counted at least 4 different possessions where Yao was fronted and the back was clear to the basket with no other defenders close enough to even try and seal him off without getting dunked on. Our guards really suck.

Exactly, during our 5 game winning streak, our players cut constantly and gave themselves easy baskets. Even in the game against the NO Hornets we were cutting and getting layups a lot (except we missed like 10 of them......). Today was absolutely sad, it just looked like JVG offense in the 4th quarter, except worse because our players couldn't even get Yao the ball.

I must admit their offence was horrible, but in the end we did fairly ok on offence with all those turnovers, Rafer hit some huge threes.

I think the bigger problem is
how did Miller literally take us apart. Its on the guards to get in front of him

As I said N times before, this team needs Tmac. Role players are role players because they are not consistent; otherwise, they would be stars. Without Tmac, the rockets winning straigt won't last long. I hope he can come back next game.

Head is a known idiot, he does not belong in the 4th qrt in tight games

Rafer took a brain fart tonight, he let Head's stupidity infect him also

our interior defense sucked, yao maybe a shotblocker but he doesn't intimidate anyone when they drive in

The answer to confidence and composure is Steve Francis. Seriously though, I think we should be fine with T-Mac back. Head won't be getting major minutes with Mac in the lineup.

There is also no reason for Head to take nearly double the shots Yao took. Head was 6-20 and 11 of his shot attempts were for 3s. I didn't watch the game but those numbers are just ridiculous for a guy who should not even be in the starting line up.

The Rockets needed this win and they went back to Choke City with Rafer being the leader choke. That's his M.O. and he has now done it back to back. The last game was a big one against a divisional rival that's had our number for quite some time and he choked and this was there for the taking and Rafer deserves a big part of the blame. He stunk up the place.

He is fool's gold. He will never be the right guy for this team when it counts and unless trade him he will play good enough to out do his competition under less stressful situations like practice but when the important games come he will choke on the big salami. I believe he will always choke in the big games that are close. I don't have faith in him. I want to trade him and be done with it! I just can't believe that you can teach an old dog new tricks and make no mistake Rafer is an Old Stinky Dog. He may wag his tail and jump around and impress but when the real dogs come to town he cowls and hides like a wimpy mutt!

We will never go anywhere with Rafer and he probably is here to stay. He is fools gold and a loser by nature. Yeah sometimes he has his moments but even he just plays well enough to not lose a game for us. I want someone who actually might win a game for us.

I am a little more than puzzled as to why Brooks was taken out of the game, as he was one of the only guys that scored in the 4th. Or even when he didn't correct it by sitting Head or Alston for the countless TO's. Maybe if he would at least say something to them during the time outs I wouldn't be so confused.

I just don't think I can watch another 4th quarter colapse with out having more to drink.

I am praying we make a trade to bring a good starting PG to this team, or at leat someone in the top 20.
