...if the Rockets want to keep them (team options/qualifying offers).

And at bargain deals to boot, because the starters and the bench guys are all still on their rookie contracts, except for KPJ now, whose deal is also very reasonable and de-risked for the Rockets, and Fernando, whose deal is also a bargain if he continues to improve.

Jalen Green 2022-23 2023-2024 2024-2025 2025-2026 - will be only 24 when his current contract ends
Alperen Sengun 2022-23 2023-2024 2024-2025 2025-2026 - will be only 23 when his current contract ends
    Jabari Smith 2022-23 2023-2024 2024-2025 2025-2026 2026-2027 - will be only 24 when his current contract ends
    Tari Eason 2022-23 2023-2024 2024-2025 2025-2026 2026-2027 - will be only 26 when his current contract ends
Kevin Porter Jr. 2022-23 2023-2024 2024-2025 2025-2026 2026-2027 - will be only 27 when his current contract ends

Even the first players off the bench are locked up just as long, and are still young as well.

Usman Garuba 2022-23 2023-2024 2024-2025 2025-2026 - will be only 24 when his current contract ends
Bruno Fernando 2022-23 2023-2024 2024-2025 2025-2026 - will be only 27 when his current contract ends
Josh Christopher 2022-23 2023-2024 2024-2025 2025-2026 - will be only 24 when his current contract ends
    TyTy Washington 2022-23 2023-2024 2024-2025 2025-2026 2026-2027 - will be only 25 when his current contract ends

This is pretty crazy. All the rookie contracts are total bargains relative to what these players will be worth even in a year or two, I think. This could be a super strong starting five in 2-3 years, and a strong bench.

And we might still get a high draft pick next year. And we will have significant cap space to add at least one max player.

    Wow.

It should be so much fun to watch this young team grow over the next few years.

If the Rockets were a stock, you should buy now.

I think we'll be a play in team next year and a solid 4-5 seed the year after, especially if we can add a decent player in free agency.

This rebuild really reminds me of the Astros rebuild. Unfortunately, at some point, we will have to choose a couple guys to let go of, just like them. The nice thing, as you've pointed out, is that that is a ways away.

Let's hope we can continue the success even after we run into those issues, like the Astros.

This would definitely be the ideal franchise to start with in NBA2K though.

As long as jabari and Jaylen are signed it’s good. Those two are going have to be part of the next playoffs or contend team.

    This, I agree with OP.

I wanted to draft Ivey instead of Banchero to have in case KPj left us.
Always having those dueling banjos from the guard spots as most
contending teams have a version of.

Green will put up near 30 points per game in year 3 if not this year.

Porter will get about 20 points per game this year....it will only be his 2nd full
    season at point guard

    Jabari
    Tari
    Sengun

    Tate and Kenyon can play

J Christopher needs to perfect an 8 foot pull up jumper.,..from there
He can shine as he can either 1) hesitate and then explode to rim
for bucket and the foul or 2) pass to hit cutters/slashers to the rim.
He is strong enough to initiate contact and get some separation like
    Harden.

Package our draft picks this summer to move up. Hard to stomach adding
additional multiple rookies. All of these 2nd rounders we are accumulating
are for package as well....no room for two to three year projects with backups.
Team is that well stocked. That means Garuba might be surpassed soon.
    Trade expendable/worthy.

I wanted Myles Turner this upcoming summer......Dillion Brooks or Kris
Middleton but they will sign again with their respective team with
    TV-streaming deal coming soon.

Future looks bright. Securing KPj was important for our backcourt chemistry.
    I'm happy.

Has terrible ball-iq and jacks up so many bad shots, please no.
Watching him in the playoffs was infuriating.

Are you serious? I didn't see him this past playoff; but he was the opposite of what you described
in the previous playoffs. He was all world and DPOY candidate off that performance.

A lot can change in a year I guess. Having Green, KPj, Jabari, Sengun, Tari might be more
targets and wouldn't require Dillion to do so much. Like chunking from the cheap seats.

Most of the other free agents are over 30 and not close to our timeline. Plus they will
want an overpay of $50M per year.

A friend of mine is a Memphis fan and we watch them a lot.
The defense is definitely great, but yea his ball-iq and knack for jacking up bad shots even on nights where nothing falls made us annoyed a lot.

This sums up some of it well:

    Thank you for the insight.

Like I said, he probably will re-up with the Grizz anyway.

Seems like every player has their warts. Myles Turner doesn't shoot a good percentage from 3.

Cam Reddish has low BB IQ ?
    DeAndre Hunter doesn't do enough?
Otto Porter is too old supposedly?
Warriors said Kelly Oubre is low BB IQ.

I don't want Kyrie Irving who always seems to be
looking for a reason not to play.

    Who is out there?

Does your friend have an opinion on Tyus Jones? I heard a crazy stat the other day that apparently, Tyus Jones had the best Ast/TO ratio in the NBA ever last season?!

    Found some articles:

Sometimes I think having a PG like that who just protects the damn ball, gets it to JG4 and Alpi and otherwise plays good defense and knocks down shots...might be all we need.

I'd absolutely love to have someone like that for our team, guy brings so much consistency and plays within the system you want him to.
The stats are right, he's very composed and makes the right play/pass consistently, can knock down 3s too.
He's an alright defender and rebounder too, so can play along weaker guards.

Jordan McLaughlin from the Wolves is similar in that regard, players like that are really underrated and especially help the second unit a ton to keep the lead intact or game close.

If the Rockets will be a real contendor for the NBA championship in the season of 2026, you will see about 70% of these players are gone.

If 3 out of 9 will be working out to be solid rotation players, that's the best outcome you will get.

So who is on the final 15 man roster? Are there any more cuts to make? I assume it's:

    1. Alperen Sengun
    2. Boban Marjanovic
    3. Bruno Fernando
    4. Daishen Nix
    5. Eric Gordon
    6. Garrison Mathews
    7. Jabari Smith Jr.
    8. Jae'Sean Tate
    9. Jalen Green
    10. Josh Christopher
    11. Kenyon Martin Jr.
    12. Kevin Porter Jr.
    13. Tari Eason
    14. TyTy Washington Jr.
    15. Usman Garuba

    That right?
