Weren't we supposed to have a good bench? Before the season starts I remember all the hype about how deep our bench is.

    Look at tonights boxscore...

Also, is it me or Luis Scola is overrated? He's a terrific offensive player, no doubt. But on defense, he seems to be lost, doesn't guard his player and can't read the transitions. All the points he scores are useless when his player is left open and destroys him...

2 of the guys that are supposed to be coming off the bench are in the starting lineup (Lowry/Miller).

With that being said, everybody is stinking it up.

c'mon man...INJURIES. Its not rocket science. If you have injured starters then your bench takes a hit!

But they have to play, even though they struggled in the first half, you have to play them to give the starters a blow.

Martin and Lowry stunk at the end because they had no legs.

Most of our bench is starting right now, and one of them is coming off an injury (although, Budinger has sucked all season).

Someone mentioned this on the radio a few days ago, the Rox are starting three guys that have no business starting on an NBA team...Lowry, Battier and Miller. Not sure they have "no business" but a contender certainly would not be starting any of these guys.

I think there is a lot of truth to this. I always thought this was the case, but it wasn't a big problem when Yao was healthy. I like Luis and I think he plays hard but his defense is just not good enough.

I know they have to play and I know we're starting a lot of bench players right now, but assume that the Rockets will deal with several injuries each year, Tonight's bench players will be "regular" bench players and, even with our starters, these players (Hill, Bud, Ish, Lee) will get some descent playing time.

I hope they get their thangs straight. Especially the Hard G.

    EXACTLY.

And ish looked awesome in the first half, it's just that no one could hit an open shot that he was setting up...

    Scola? Overrated?

Don't get me wrong, his defense is pretty bad, but he does a lot more things very well.

The problem is you can't play them all at the same time. They need to play along some started.

Exactly. And they do not fit well with our starters.

Indeed. It is EXTREMELY bad. We even keep getting killed by scrubs.

Yeah, Ish made some nice passes, just wide open shots were missed. Wish he would get more minutes, even with Lowry putting up the numbers he did tonight, I felt like he took some poor shots.

Ish fit well, he actually strated for us.

I Probably Start Ish. and bring. Kyle to run the bench. But we can't play Chuck and Hill together and with Chase struggling we have no spacing from the bench.

    Ish
    KM
    Battier
    Scola
    Hil.

    ------

    Bench Kyle
    Lee
    Chase
    Chuck
    Miller.

We need a combination of defense and play making ability.

Man, tonight is a weird night. The team lost, and there seems to be so many people making posts that I actually agree with 100%.

I'm with el_locoteee on this one. Adelman needs to start Ish and Hill and put Lowry and Miller on the bench.

At the very least, it will help develop some chemistry for the bench guys when (if) this team gets fully healthy again.

    We are down players.
We are missing 30+ point at a high FG%.

With brooks playing we probably win most of the games we lost vs this under .500 teams.

    We are missing key players.

Went you are missing key players the replacement have to step up. Chase and Lee haven't. Well this is Chase first game since he injured but he can't make a 3 pointer he can make.
