Alston, 10-19, 0.526 Novak, 18-36, 0.500 Padgett, 6-13, 0.462 Head, 8-18, 0.444 Battier, 5-12, 0.417 Snyder, 5-17, 0.294 T-Mac, 2-13, 0.153 Novak is only our 2nd best.... 05-06 regular season 3P% Barry, 0.375 Wesley, 0.365 Head, 0.361 Bogans, 0.314 T-mac, 0.312
Novak has shot nearly as much as the rest of the team combined...and he is still hitting 50%..... I can not believe that he lasted into the 2nd round.....guys who can shoot like this are rare...and coaches FIND a way to get them on the court. I wonder if JVG's use of the zone is about getting Novak on the floor more often, as well as protecting Yao? Novak.....is the best pure shooter the Rockets have ever had. And he is a rookie....wow !! DD
The only thing that comes to my mind is Wow This is really some crazy numbers. If they can keep this up in the regular season, it will be a nightmare for the other teams.
I'm suprised that no one has compared him to Del Curry. Novak has a quick release, and needs little space. This dude is going to be an incredible role player (stating the obvious). My main point is ...yeah, he reminds me of Del Curry. Used to be one of my favorite players.
Didn't Snyder shoot 39% from 3 land last season or something? If he can get up to about 41%, then this team is set. There's nothing to worry about TMac. He turns it up in the regular season. He's very streaky.
I am confident that Battier and SuperNova will finish over 0.410 for the season. Next tier will be Padgy, Rafe and Bonzi.
Man -- the way Snyder has been playing, if he can hit at a 35% clip -- just enough to keep his defender honest, he'll be effective offensively. His athletic ability to penetrate and finish is superb. One thing that could really take his game to the next level is if he elevated his passing game. Slash to the basket, draw defenders, dish out to the open man. I still can't believe we basically acquired this guy for some pocket change. What were the Hornets thinking?
Those reports you heard about Alston improving his shot over the summer weren't made up, you know. As of now he is either the second or third best 3 point shooter on this team behind Novak (can't make up my mind whether Battier is better or not). He really has been impressive, and I'm looking forward to watching him make Clutch eat crow this season.
fool's gold candidates for the 2007 season: 1st bonzi - signed at 5 million discount 2nd snyder - starter caliber SG for free, potential all star? 3rd vspan - 2nd round pick start by mid-season, steve nash for 2 million 4th novak - best shooter in the leagure for a 32nd pick
I am worried about T-mac much. Our team need his good performance in regular season..... God bless Tmac....
This is Snyder's FG numbers in chronological order: 2-7, 5-10, 2-8, 5-7, 2-8, 3-7 Here's Byron Scott's criticism: http://www.nola.com/hornets/t-p/index.ssf?/base/sports-2/115251091515960.xml&coll=1 Still he's better than Wesley and a vast upgrade over Bogans.
That seems kind of low for a slasher. Those FGs add up to 40.4%. I would think that a guy whose game is suited to be around the rim, would have a higher shooting percentage than 40%. I have to keep reminded myself that this is just the preseason. It is fairly unlikely that Novak willhit 50% from 3pt land all year too. I guess I'll take the good with the bad.
