Wizards President Ernie Grunfeld announced today that guard/forward Josh Howard has a torn ACL in his left knee and will miss the remainder of the 2010-11 season. Howard suffered the injury in last night’s game vs. Chicago at the 4:23 mark of the first quarter.

In four games (three starts) for Washington this season, Howard averaged 14.5 points and 3.3 rebounds per game. No timetable has been announced for Howard’s recovery.

Im not sure on his contract situation

I guess now he will have a legit reason to not stand up for the national anthem.

It's team option, which the Wizards weren't planning on picking up and def. won't now.

Never liked the guy, but still, terrible timing.

Not that he mattered much in the long term, but my god! This franchise has a deadly combination of incompetence and bad luck. I would not want to play here if I was a big name player.

On a side note, Wizards have won 3 of 4 since the team-gutting happened. I know the losing streak is probably just around the corner, but if they're going to lose I'd prefer they do it playing their hearts out like they are right now. The team has been twice as fun to watch the past few games

Howard could have done a LOT these next couple of games to boost his next contract (should he be renounced). Oh well.

Howard said he'd show Dallas that they had made a big mistake. I guess he failed.

Good, that douchebag deserved it. I was rewatching some old clips from the Mavericks series (man we looked promising), and even though it was ALL houston highlights, you could see Howard tripping our players and generally being a douche. Karma's a b****, mang.
