Listening on the Jim Rome today: "Hey Balki Van Gundy, If you're gonna win a championship, how do you expect to do it without a point guard?!" "Yao Ming isn't the next Shaq because he's SOFT! Yeah sure he's a nice guy and all that but he is soft and he will always be." "Rockets fan is PISSED and I don't blame them" OUCH!
Not as much as watching it on the court. I'm happy that the national media is talking about this. Get riddy of Van Gundy.
DOUBLE OUCH! --This is from Eric Neel's ESPN Page 2 Around the NBA in 30 Days.... The Rockets are under the "BAD" in the NBA http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=neel/041201 How about Tracy McGrady + Yao Ming equals ... nada?! I can barely stand to watch this team play. They stand around like nervous teenage boys at a middle school dance just waiting to get shot down by the pretty girl. They're not stiff -- they're stuffed, like a family of duck-billed platypuses on display at the natural history museum. Tracy's clanging. Yao's under-used, just like last year. Yawn. When the deal went down for T-Mac, I figured we'd see a lot of give-and-go, a lot of half-court-cleverness and some dead-eye shooting -- I just didn't figure it'd only be coming from Grant Hill and Little Stevie Wonder ...
How is he wrong, though? We have no real legit PG. Yao is soft. Van Gundy looks like Balki. I'm not a huge fan of Jim Rome...but he's absolutely right on all fronts, here.
i think balki bartakamus could do a better job with thr Rockets..........how about cousin larry......LOL
Well, I mean he's not exactly going out on a limb. That's why it bugs me. Nothing he says is original. What's his next big revelation, that LeBron James is playing well this season?
