How is this guy's name spelled? On the FBI page, the name is spelled with a "U", yet every other media source seems to spell it with an "O". Which is it, and why the discrepancy?

Yeah, I noticed this too. I watched Hannibal Saturday afternoon and I saw Usama bin Ladden on the 10 most wanted page they showed in the movie. Perhaps he changed it, or it was reported incorrectly when he was put on the 10 most wanted back in 93 (I think). Perhaps Usama and Osama have slightly different meanings. Heck, I have no clue, I honestly just wanted to throw in the fact I saw his picture and name in Hannibal.

I noticed that Tony Blair refers to him as Usama. Maybe this is a deal like Hussein where former President Bush pronounced his name "Sa-Damn" instead of "Soddam" as an insult.

    I've also seen it spelled, "I-D-I-O-T", "P-S-Y-C-H-O-P-A-T-H", "N-U-T", "C-O-W-A-R-D", and lastly "D-E-A-D-M-A-N-H-I-D-I-N-G".

its simple transliteration...in arabic the name is the same. some people use O some use U same thing....

and ibn abd bin...those are different in arabic. usually from what i understand if your just going to say 'bin laden' its gramatically correct in arabic to say ibn laden. however if your gonna say the whole name in that case you say usama/osama bin laden.
