I wonder if Whiteside and Udoh will be there as well. Given that these three have been going up against each other in a lot of workouts. --RB
welcome to the world of twitter where the cool kids think they need to post stupid videos and call their friends bra and bruh...
You are talking about the only kid in this group of UK guys coming out that I don't necessarily like. He's a lughead.
What a coincidence, yesterday I did a mock and we picked Orton. Rockets have worked out or have watched a workout in Minnesota for almost every 1st round prospect.
He is a big lughead with size and shooting range. He can rebound and shoot out to the arc! Okay he appears to be lazy. But you have to at least look at the kid. A good interview might help you see if he is really a lug head or there is a reason for his laziness. He's not Shaq Fat. He is young and big with less body fat than cousins and less talent but more talent than you think. Worth a look... Everybody talks about UDoh but he is small next to Orton. The things size allowed him to do in college will not transfer as easily to the NBA. I prefer Sanders over Udoh and probably over Orton. he has more height and wingspan. Yes he weighs much less than orton and a little less than Udoh but the guy has no fat. 4.5% lowest among bigs and he is a gazelle. He can run and run and jump with 7'5" wingspan and a 9'5". The word on Sanders is he is a project but so far in workouts he has impressed always on defense. But also he is surprising coaches with his offensive moves. And in workouts they say defensively he is NBA ready now! Okay it is obvious I like Sanders over Orton but I definitely like Orton over Udoh who I think is dropping. I wouldn't be disappointed if we took Orton over Udoh or even Whiteside. The word on Whiteside is he isn't the brightest kid and he doesn't seem to have the desire for the game as most of the other bigs. He still has all the measurements and athleticism to be a great one but a lot of risk. Still I like Sanders and believe he will be the surprise of the draft. I know on this board everyone will say he is a reach at 14 but not if he is better with more potential. Draft Express had him at 25 2 weeks ago and now he is at 19. Watch him move up. He will be a better pro than college player. How many other picks can you say that about?
Did you get that info by watching him average three points a game? HayesFan, I didn't watch him much, but from what I did -- did he lead the team in goal tending? Every time I saw him, he was "blocking" balls that were obviously on their way down and going to the rim. Like KG, just before the whistle blows.
talked to Shaun Bijani from 610.. he said he's heard orton, whiteside and five to six other guys are coming in for a workout.
I don't think they do private workouts... at least I haven't heard of that. @OMR I agree, you have to look at him, but imho he's not at all ready to make the jump. He needs at least a year more in college. He will interview well. He will say all the right things, but that doesn't mean he's the right fit. I don't know why, but he's always rubbed me the wrong way. Though I do like the picture of him dressed as a power ranger.
I don't know why, but Orton intrigues me as a prospect. He won't make an impact as a rookie, but I think he has a chance to be a good player down the line. He doesn't fit the Rockets need for someone who can step in and help right away.
Completely agree with you. I doubt the Rockets select him. If the Thunder don't trade up into the top 10, I can see them using one of their 3 picks on Orton if he's still around.
Orton intrigues me as a prospect, but I was hoping to see more from him last season at UK. I do like UK's player Patterson a lot. Random question:Who is the dude standing next to the Power Ranger-or- is that Orton standing next to the Power Ranger?
