If Shaq and Kmart end up in the south division along with Jamison then Orlando no longer looks like a lock for the playoffs. Terry, Kmart. Shaq, Wade, Haslem. Jamison, Arenas look better than anything Orlando has going this year. Steve will definitely hinder Howards' development so I don't see Howard being a factor.

Too bad Steve. You wanted Shaq well at least you get to play against him 4 times a year.

If Shaq goes to Miami then they are obviously the favorites to win the division, but I don't see Atlanta and Washington being better than Orlando even with the moves that they made.

Never underestimate the affect of an out of control, selfish, disgruntled player. If you saw the looks on the aces of SF, cat and Cato at he press conference you saw three very unhappy guys. Not a smile among them. Only a disbelieving, Deer in the headlights look. These guys will get the Magic to .500 but .500 is not as likely to get into the playoffs now in the East.

your name says everithing i need to know about you. With some people it is no use having a discusion, because they will not listen to arguments. so if you want to believe that then ok i hope you are happy that way, we will see in a year

These are exactly my thoughts. Atlanta might sign one good free agent and they had one lottery pick but I don't think that is enough to put them in the playoffs over Orlando who had two nice first rounders, and a trio of good players from Houston. Mark my words, Orlando will make the playoffs in a very weak east.

here is how i see the east if kmart stays and shaq lands in south beach:

    pistons
    pacers
    heat
    nets
    knicks
    6ers
    magic
    bucks
    ==========
    bos
    cle
    was
    chi
    tor
    atl
    cha

if martin leaves the nets, i would put them in the 8th spot.

atlanta is not the most attractive destination in the NBA right now, they won't be doing anything significant.

i think magic will make playoffs

I think you should change your screename to Smart?...NOT. Haslem, Terry, Arenas, Jamison better that steve? HAHAHA. Steve may have not taken this team to the playoffs every single year but at least the Rox were in contention every year in the tough west rather than a 20 something win team which all the above players have been associated with.

I love how everyone sh#ts on Steve but LOVES Wade. I like Wade alot but you people HATE steve but LOVE a player who has the exact same game as Steve. The first time I saw Wade play I thought he was exactly like Steve: Explosive and very athletic who isn't affraid to take & make big shots.

You're the poster child for Steve hater. You diss Steve and hate on him but have no clue about what you are talking about. You're the type that thinks Yao should play PG b/c he is a good passer or that a high schooler can play for the rockets and run the offense better than steve....what a joke.

    A LOCK FOR THE PLAYOFFS:

    Detroit
    Indiana

    A GOOD SHOT:

Nets: Even if they lose KMart and Kidd is only 80%, that's still better than what most Eastern teams can run. Richard Jefferson will just have to carry more of a load and that was seen when Kidd went down with the injury last year.

Heat: I'm not even thinking about KMart or O'Neal being on their team. This team, as it stands now, is one more year experienced and still just as talented.

Magic: Whoever said this team won't make the playoffs is 1. insulting the same players that got us into the playoffs 2. needs to go back and look at the players they got. Francis and Mobley will thrive in the East and lets not forget about Cato--who will probly be the 3rd or 4th best Center in the East behind Ben Wallace and maybe Shaq. And then they got Dwight Howard. If this kid can give them 10/4 a game then i see no reason why they wouldn't make the playoffs.

    CRAP SHOOT:

Cleveland: We'll have to see how far LeBron can go without his hardnosed, bruising, opportunist of a power foward.

Boston: The team is just Paul Pierce, and even he might get traded.

Knicks: Very mercurial. They need to get a consistent start and keep that going.

Bucks: They lose Skinner and probably even Damon Jones. Sure they're role players but when you're team succeeds on having a big rotation of role players, it'll hurt without those guys.

Sixers: I just don't have faith in this team...even WITH O'Brien. They need scorers other than Iverson but 1. they really don't have any and 2. Iverson won't let that happen.

    HAHAHAHHAHA how?!?!?!

You've got Ainge running things down to hell in Boston, which I guess isn't that bad compared to Cleveland.

How in the world can you think Cleveland will make the playoffs?!?! No Boozer and James may be able to score 30 a night, but he can't almost literally single-handedly carry that team to the postseason.

Atlanta has so much money, no big name free agents left this year, i bet they will throw another season away and wait till next year to sign big name FA..i would. If they can get 1 big name player next season they will be an attractive destination, because they have alot of money, a nice arena, and a crowd which would sell out frequently if they sign a big name player, or make the playoffs. So as far as the hawks are concerned throwing another season away for the future, is no big deal. Im just glad they weren't impatient and went out and got bad contracts like the jazz....

IMO, the Orlando Magic will have home court advantage in the first round of next years playoffs!

    Just a few notes...

"franchise?..NOT" has been a critic of SF for a few years, as have I (during the miserable years; it was more appropriate then). But in the name of not "Kicking a Man When he is Down (Francis)" I've personally let it go. That doesn't mean that I wont debate issues/flaws in SF's game. I will. But not in relation to THIS team. I'm more indifferent about it.

    The funny thing is...
*franchise?..NOT* has the unenviable BBS username that reeks "bash" unintentionally.

For example. Most of us can post a comment that says, "Hi, what's the latest on Barry?"

If *franchise?..NOT* says the same thing, it comes out as, "Hi, what's the latest on Barry? OH, and by the way Francis sucks." ;)

In defense of *franchise?..NOT*, once the season starts, and everyone is in a euphoria of watching the McGrady/Yao at work! Most people won't care about someones *usernames* even if they are antagonizing towards the former guard.

If we start winning, it will be "Francis? Who's that?" We'll be too busy enjoying the season to care.

It doesn't just comes out as, if he wanted to ask about Barry, he would really say "Hi, what's the latest on Barry? OH, and by the way Francis sucks.".

Look at the posts he already made in this thread

    or

In both cases, the Steve bashing was not needed, but he just had to throw it in there.

Yes, I know. I wasn't talking about that. I was just talking about the nature of his "user name."

I think that you or I could have said the same thing and got less reaction just because our usernames don't convey "anti-francis."

Not a big deal. Just making an observation.

i agree with you that if you or someone like Dadakota (another anti-francis) would have said it there would be less reaction, but that is because people can reason with you two. Of someone make Franchise?...Not his user name he make a real messsage to the rest of the board that says: i think Francis sucks. and there is no need to reason with me because i will always think he sucks.

If i had a user name that said:Rockets.are.losers. people would bash me because of that name. and you should

a user name gives a message. Like someone who is called MemphisX shows that he is a Memphis fan. . especially such a name. those people create those names with a reason to create a atmosfeer were people start bashing, and it worked. people woth those names want reactions.

i have no problem with people who think Francis is not a good player. I think he is. But then there can be a discusion, like there should be in a forum. i have had millions of discussions with you or Dadakota about Francis, and that is good. But franchise?..NOT does not want a discussion he wants to Bash francs. There is a differance in bashing and not liking a player. if you do not like him you think he is not a good pleyer. but you do see the good sides of that player. bashing is only seeing the bad sides of a player.
And just loving a player is also not good. then you do not see the negative sides of that player. with bashing and loving you cannot have discusions because those people tend to not listen to arguments.

Ofcourse Francis has bad sides. but he also has his good sides. He had problems with playing alongside Yao last year. But do not forget the years people wanted him to dominate. he played great. And almost got us to the play-offs. I think it is strange that people think Orlando cannot even make the playoffs in the east Look at the terrible teams that are in that conferance. last year Boston new york and milwauke made it to the play-offs. This orlando team is alot better.
