Link NES Title Stadium Events Sells for $41,300 Posted March 2, 2010 by David Radd As astounding as an eBay sale that recently netted over $13,000 was, a more recent find blew that out of the water. Yahoo! Games [thanks Edge] is reporting that, while a reader was rifling through a stack of nearly 200 NES games, he found a copy of the game (Stadium Events) that netted thousands, and it was in new, unboxed condition. "Now I’m not much of a collector, but I know that having a factory seal is good," said Kansas reader Dave. Ultimately, this copy of Stadium Events sold for $41,300 on eBay. The super-rare title was published in limited numbers in late 1987 by Bandai, but Nintendo purchased the rights to the Family Fun Fitness mat (later released as the Power Pad) in 1988, and they recalled all copies of Stadium Events (which was later sold as World Class Track Meet), leaving only about 200 cartridges surviving.
I bet the person who sold it as an NES bundle for $13,000 is pulling her hair out as I type this. That $28,000 must look really good to her.
I searched for it, as I do with all of my posts. It's only 6 days old. I don't have the luxury of owning a time machine, Dr. Who.
Ok, that made me laugh. Unfortunately: You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Salvy again.
I'm just messing with ya.... I wish I had a time machine to go back in time and get that stupid nintendo game... In fact I would have bought all of them....
Actually, this is not an old or repeated story. The first thread was about the Stadium Events selling for 13K and this one was for another similar copy selling for 41K. Kind of similar thread, but not the exact same info.
