    Forward thinkin.......

Looks like the Rocks and CD amy actually be tryin to earn a paycheck this summer........Lots of movement about the Rockets all over the net...means something will definately happen here shortly.....some changes are gonna be made it s just a matter of who....

The latest rumors (not includin Franchise and Sleepy in Orlando) our wonderful Power Forwards(Kato and MO) who despite havin decent seasons this year....I would love to see go for some type of team upgrade( Can I help them Pack).......My heart is still out on the Tmac thing.....I know Steve has beeen the epitome of "NO basketball IQ" this year but I still want the franchise here for some reason....

    http://www.oregonlive.com/sports/oregonian/index.ssf?/base/sports/1087041464218220.xml

ON a completely different note....is it just me or does Detroit whoopin the Fakers feel extremely pleasureably????? I think that Shaq or Kobe must have slapped my Momma Sometimes the way I hate the team.........Everytime Rip scores on Kobe I make ungodly amounts of noise that drives my wife nuts......Also wouldn't Rip look Great...(EVEN better than T mac) in a Rocks uniform......that sweet deadly jumpshooter we all cry and dream about on this board to complement YAO an Steve.....anyway enough dreamin

Houston desperate to trade Mo and Cato?

The Oregonian is reporting that Houston is desperate to trade Taylor and Cato.
I tend not to believe stories but I'm wondering if the Rockets are looking for players in exchange who will replace them.

I have completely given up on the management of this team. Ten years of ineptitude is enough for me. The final straw for me was the Eddie Griffin fiasco. I maintain to this day that SOMEONE'S ass should have been fired over this but it's been usual over there meaning more bad moves to come.

Until I SEE some concrete proof to the contrary, I don't expect anything in terms of good personnel moves out of CD & Co because they are amongst the most pathetic band on incompetents I've seen this side of the Texas Ranger organization. AFAIK, you can forget about getting TMac or any other quality player as long as these dumbasses are running things.

As for what's happened to the Lakers, I think the Lakers are getting what they deserve. They waltzed into the NBA Finals sniffing their noses at the Pistons as if they (Pistons) were unworthy of even bothering to show up and they now find themselves in a streetfight. To paraphrase Sean Connery from The Untouchables: they brought knives to a gunfight.

What the Pistons lack in glamour and glitz, they make up in determination and attitude. I literally sit watching these games with my mouth hanging open in astonishment. JVG tried to preach this to Rockets all season but the Pistons are DOING it. This series may well prove to be a turning point for the league should the Pistons win the title.

i just don´t think the rockets want to trade cato, since his contract expires in 2006..... right in time when the rockets need cap-space to re-sign yao

It really doesn't matter what the Rocket's cap situation is. The Rockets can sign Yao to a max contract no matter what. They'll be in good shape for 2006 regardless.

Franchises go through good and bad times. The Rockets in the mid-90's couldn't make a bad move. Everything from late round draft picks to free agent signings just seemed to all work out. You could say they same for the Spurs right now. Franchises gamble on players and hope that they become who they think they will be for the team. The Rockets front office has had some bad luck and some mistakes, but I think it will turn around soon. It's amazing what can happen when you have a guy like Yao who could very well become the best player in the league within a few years.

you are talking bout the bird rights, aren´t you?

....as for taylor: i really don´t think that there are many teams who wanna trade for an overpaid power forward who gives a damn about rebounding....

    Makes sense to me.

MoT and Cato are the two highest "trade value" players we have. MoT's excellent season makes this a good time to shop him around. Likewise, Cato probably fits in better on an East Coast team with starters minutes.

That distinction still lies with Steve Francis and Cuttino Mobley.

I find it hard to believe that the Rockets would be "desperate to trade Cato". That would tend to indicate that there are no takers, & I find it hard to believe that no one wants Cato, especially in the East. Since no sources were named, I'll take this story with a grain of salt.

Cato has no offense, and Taylor is undersized for his postition, and yet both have huge contracts.

Both are best suited for bench play, yet they make starters money, but this topic has been hashed over a zillion times, so bleh.

cato could go in a deal for tmac.

mo could go to the sonics or pacers...im sure there are other teams interested. mo for daniels and james seems to be a realistic goal.

I'm up for changes in the rooster.

    Cato
    Griffin (when healthy)
    Yao
    Pierce
    Blaylock

    6th Man- Mobley

Pierce can move to SF then Mobley can slot into SG when required. This gives Houston two high calibre wing players who can shoot from the perimeter or drive to the basket.

Pierce will thrive in an environment where he doesn't have to be the number one option night in, night out. I reckon he would have a break-out season playing in Houston.

Yao will continue to improve no doubt but IMHO the team in its present form has reached its limits.
