I guess this is somewhere on Clutchfans so merge if necessary. But sometimes you earn getting sucker punched. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ZpIiiokxzLg&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ZpIiiokxzLg&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Sorry, but someone tapping you on the shoulder and talking smack isn't reason to punch them. Especially when you're representing a state university and on national goddamned television.
it looked to me like that guy deserved it, but still even though he deserved it, this isn't the streets, you must contain yourself.
Disrespectful. Inexcusable, in the words of the commentator. Dumb: losing your cool because someone taunts you. Dumber: punching someone and getting caught on national TV. Dumber-er: pushing your own teammates trying to control you.
The Boise State player clearly taunted him. He deserved being punched for being so classless, but the Oregon player needed to show some restraint. A simple "F U!" would probably have sufficed.
Dumber-er-er: Trying to start things with the crowd afterwards. Dumber-er-er-er: Fighting against coaching staff as they try to escort you off the field.
Yeah he deserved it, gloating about winning is not needed. Let the media do that for you, but when you are on national tv and representing yourself, family, team, and university, you have to think before you act.
Being taunted deserves being hit in the jaw when you're looking the other way? Sorry, but that is weak. The guy was excited about a win and pushed his shoulder (no idea what he said) and then after he turned, the Oregon player hit in him jaw and backed away like he was bad. You aren't bad, you're a punk. You are lucky that God blessed you with football talent that is likely going to get you into the NFL, otherwise you'd spend your life flipping burgers until another person who thinks he's as bad as you are shoots you in an idiotic macho spat and your mother has to wonder what went wrong at your funeral.
"Kudos" and a very respectable tip of the hat for #86 of Oregon for not retaliating off that punch from that animal. You, sir, are a gentleman.
I would bet a lot of money that the guy dind't just go tap him on the shoulder out of the blue. Based on the character of that Oregon player, I guarantee he was talking smack before and all during the game so he probably deserved to be talked trash to after the *** whoopin they took. The Boise player specifically seeked him out, which isn't right, but you could also see why he would do that too.
He shouldn't have punched him and his behaviour afterwards was ridiculously uncalled for, but the guy absolutely deserved it. No need to taunt a guy after you win. I bet the BS player will think twice about showing somebody up after he wins a game.
I don't know which was worse... 1) Hitting the kid in the mouth after he had turned away 2) Backing up and flexing up your arms like you're something special 3) Hitting your own teammate who was trying to get you off the field before things got worse Swoly, good call. #86 showed legit maturity. Trying to get his idiot teammate off the field and then just standing there calmly and walking away when the moron hit him as well. That kid probably cost himself some time this season, and that probably hurts his team as well. Oh, but he's a BAD BAD MAN!
The Boise guy is probably a douche who deserves some comeuppance for his general attitude in life. But at the same time no one deserves the right to hit him in that situation. And for Blount to walk backwards flexing like it was some awesome move when he basically sucker punched him is just stupid. Not to mention he's already been suspended by his team before, and his attempts at fighting his own teammates, coaching staff, and security to get at fans while being escorted off the field.
See my above comment ... Blount probably deserved to be taunted after the win a whole lot more than the guy deserved to get sucker punched. We are talking about an Oregon player that had to be suspended from his own teams practice for temper tantrums here. I'm sure his mouth was running the whole game.
These are college kids. And something tells me that he didn't just slap him on the shoulder for no reason. Based on the behavior of that fool I bet he was talking trash or something to have provoked it. And as much as we want to call it taunting, we don't what the Boise State player said. He slapped his shoulder, but it wasn't violently, he had an excited jubilant look on his face...it doesn't appear to me that he did anything with any malice and he got hit in the face for it. One kid looks like an overexcited football player who just won a game that sets his team up to get a legit shot at a national title that lost control of his sportsmanship. The other kid looks like a macho punk with a major attitude problem. Edit: Just rewatched the video. I misread the Boise player's face.
