The Lakers are now 0-2. Even though they don't have Shaq, they should still be winning with their superstar leader, Kobe. Looks like they won't have first round home court advantage, if they even make the playoffs.

The Spurs lost to Golden Sate today. That makes them a .500 ballclub. I'm afraid that won't cut it. No playoffs for the Spurs this year.

How 'bout that? The Celtics lost at home to the Bulls. Chicago is going to the Finals this year.

I'm thinking Golden State-Chicago this June.

Oh, and the Rockets lost too. I guess it's back to the lottery.

You know it's a sad day when ZRB is the voice of reason... ;)

Also, ZRB, screw Duncan and Shaq, I'm voting Giricek for MVP... you down?

I know what you mean, Cat. These Steve-haters stole my thunder. I'm supposed to be the pessimistic one here.

Oh, and I don't know who Giricek is, but he has my vote for Most Improved Player, Defensive Player of the Year, and Most Valuable Player.

Did you see his numbers tonight? He's a rookie for Memphis... had 29 points... naturally he is going to lead the league in scoring. Move over AI... :)

I always wonder these days when I see a ZRB post..."Which ZRB is this? The reasonable one or the pessimistic one..?" ;)

really man...good post and thanks. I heard the last 5 minutes on the radio on the way home from school..and thought "Oh god, Do I really want to read the BBS tonite?" I just knew there was gonna be a long rant about how bad we suck from you..and others...and you surprised me...unfortunatley...the others didnt.

    Thanks..:D

i don't think so. steve had 39 tonight so it looks like he's topping all of jordan's season averages. add to that the fact that he never passes and likes to pad his stats and we have a potential record-holder on our hands. who needs championships anyways? ;)

Uh oh, Cleveland just beat the Clippers.

I think that Cleveland will go to the playoffs this year. They'd probably even make it in the west, since the Rockets/Spurs/Lakers/Clippers are such crap. The only competition for Cleveland in the west is Golden State.

Please....the reason some of us are a bit angry is because we're seeing the same individual BS from last year.
If we had shown improvement as basketball players(IQ), there wouldn't be all this b!tching.
And the scary thing is we don't even have Kenny "The Black-Hole" Thomas, or Mo "I love to think I'm a SF" Taylor.

Ever feel like you've entered an alternate dimension? You've mellowed quite a bit, ZRB. :D

I'm glad I couldn't see that game. Probably would have hurt myself or something.

Not all of us are doom-and-gloomers. Some of us are just mad that
we are seeing the same style of play from two years ago.

Even if we won today, it's still the same ISO style. It wont work in the play-offs.

I'm mellow now because in my heart, I knew the Rockets would lose this game. It is tough to win when you have a four man bench consisting of three rookies, and a Collier.

Eddie is still too young to start, and three guard lineups rarely work.

If this team loses to Denver with a lineup of Francis, Mobley, Rice, Thomas, and Cato, then I will be pissed.

Besides, this team has a history of opening night jitters. They have lost 3 of the past four opening-night games.

Even if they had won, it wouldn't have been a good indication of how good this team will be. The Rockets started 5-1 last year, and finished 23-53.

The Rockets started 1-3 the year before, and finished 44-34.

I, for one, thought that the Rockets were using a different offense tonight. Players weren't just standing around watching the ball handler, they were moving all over the place. They just missed shots. They also turned the ball over multiple times, and I'm not just talking about Steve. Eddie made his first shot, and missed his next 11. Cato, despite his great all-around performance, missed two alley-oop dunks that would have been Francis assists.

Ron Artest got away with murder.

It was just a good old ****ty game. Every team has them. The Rockets just happened to have one on opening night.

When the Rockets face Portland on November 12th, they will be 4-1.

Smeg, I can't believe you had to put the fine print in there. :D

It is scary that so many people can't understand sarcasm.
Oh well, that's the net for you.

man i kept hearing we only had nine people but i never actually thought about who the four on the bench were. nachbar at this stage of his career, joaquin "oh my god i made the cut" hawkins, and jason collier. throw in a not so ready for primetime yao ming and that is ugly. easy to lose with that bench when two of your starters are already bench players. ****ING INJURIES!!!! stop getting injured everyone. and eddie, my fantasy team needs you, no more 1-11 crap.
