Anybody going to the Rockets Red Rally to check out the open scrimmage?
It's a great chance to check out the new guys in action. Chase Budinger is getting lots of praise. He's the one I want to see.

Can't make it this year since the Rockets will be having an open practice down here in the Rio Grande Valley at the McAllen convention center. Unlike the free one up in H-Town the practice down here costs 6 bucks, it is called Rocket Launch: http://www.nba.com/dleague/riograndevalley/rocketlaunch2009.html

Click on the link for information on the days events I will be there all day Sunday.

wow, have you never been to downtown?

take westheimer eastbound towards downtown. It eventually becomes Elgin. Make a left at Austin, right on Clay, right on Labranch, park in the Garage to your left.

    The Garage is free?

never heard of google maps or mapquest or anything?

59 to Downtown is fairly easy, just stay in the far left lane and follow the signs to downtown, then to TC.

LOL, I saw W. Gray St on this map and remembered that I used to live there - 1313 W. Gray, to be exact. Wow, that was like 40+ years ago (I'm not saying how much over 40).

Jermaine Taylor looked pretty good attacking the basket, but then again nobody was playing defense. Ariza started with 3 dunks conroy has a very good 3pt shot going for him. Pops with a monster dunk very athletic. Scola shooting 3 pointers . Temple had a solid game as well.

What are Conroy's weaknesses? All the reports and his numbers in the D-League seem to indicate he should have stuck somewhere by now.

Alright guys, here are my personal analysis of the players that have played:

Romel Beck - Very unactive, likes to shoot jumpers and rarely attacks the basket. However, the one time he did attack the basket, he threw down a nasty one-handed dunk.

    Jermaine Taylor
    - Very active, likes to drive to the basket, jumpers aren't half bad. Dunks are absolutely sick and his vertical is amazing.

    Chase Budinger
    - White boy has hops! Great shooter.

Will Conroy - Just sat around and shot jumpers like Romel Beck.

Pops - Not a bad post player. However, offensive skills need work.

David Andersen - Soft is the only word I can use to describe him. He is Mehmet Okur v2.

    I also forgot to add...

TREVOR ARIZA is going to be very very very effective in the Houston Rocket's high up-tempo style of play.

Were they playing seriously, or was it basically all-star game intensity?
