Thats how I read it...Open practice at the Laptop from 7-9 on Oct 27th... cool, thats a Sunday...Im there!!!
The Rockets have done a nice job this season addressing attendance and marketing issues. They haven't pouted or whined, they've just rolled up their sleeves and put in some well-needed elbow grease. Good job!
Without a doubt...the Rox must be commended on their efforts... SOO... Who's going??? It looks to be FREE...and it's on Sunday...no work issues for most of us...and we get to watch the Rox practice for 2 hours... Come on H-town guys...everyone show up..we'll sit in the same section and have some fun...
i'm game I drove out to Gallery Furniture and signed up for a credit card to get tickets to a scrimmage a few years ago. Still haven't used the card. Sorry Mac.
Glad to hear people excited about the open practice ... we hadn't done it in a couple of years and decided it was time to bring it back. And, yes, it's free. It will probably be the only free chance to catch Yao playing, so I hope everybody takes advantage of it. I'm surprised nobody has commented on the first event on Friday yet. There was a lot of commentary here about the dancers' new uniforms, and we'll be debuting them there. Tim
So we just show up to the Compaq Center with as many people as we want and claim our seats Tim? First come first serve? What time do the doors open to the public? Thanks alot.
Open practice will be first come, first serve on seats. Come early, get close. The lunch is really to publicize the opening of our Premium Sales Center, which is a small building across from the new arena where we'll be selling our suites. In it, you can see the scale model of the new arena and a full-size build out of one of the suites, as well as renderings of the new arena interior. We will be taking people through the Sales Center, but please understand that (1) it's a small building, it may take us a while to get everybody through, and (2) the people we'll be taking through first are the ones that we've been talking to about suite purchases. We do want everybody to see it, though -- everybody I've taken through there gets pumped about the new building. We'd like the whole city to share that feeling. All of the Lift-Off Week events are open to the public, no charge. (Although to actually enter in Cuttino's Clutch City Shootout, you have to be a high school basketball player and register in advance -- but everybody's invited to come and watch.) Tim
You guys are really doing a great job this year, Tim. I may have to make the trip to Houston this weekend. Man, what a cool group of events! Where is Champps?? I've lived in Austin for the last 20 years, so excuse the ignorance. I wanna see the Power Dancers new duds.
Tim I have to give you and all the Rockets Big KODOS on a very nice job and to let you and the Rockets know I have got my tickets for a few games this year so far and plan to get some more when my time will let me...... Thanks again
so anyone know what time the doors open to the public? is there a line outside Compaq right now, as I'm posting? i wanna go! i'm like 10 minutes away. (galleria area)
That's the pic I got from my e-mail. Seeing as how you posted before I got this pic, you may have seen it. But I posted the pic anyways.
i think i heard doors open to the public at 6:30 pm... i called the box office about tickets last week and that was the time they quoted me for the open practice.
hmmm...are you sure the doors don't really open earlier, say 5:30, and you're trying to throw the rest of us off to get a better spot in line?
