Mo, don't let the bleak landscape of current times suppress your enthusiasm for playing basketball in the Rockets' system. Take this time to work on your positioning, timing and footwork to improve your rebounding and find your shot again. Your heart, size and ability to read the floor will be needed soon. Your talent on the floor as a passer and scorer ultimately will work to your advantage in earning the starting role. In the process please mentor Eddie Griffin as you would a younger brother. There are a lot of fans who are in your corner. Do not heed the negativists. Their only thrill is to see someone -- anyone -- fail, usually because they have not had the courage to test themselves in the line of fire. Good luck, and Merry Christmas. May Santa bring your smile back because that, too, will serve you well. Regards, Thumbs.
I like Mo Taylor and hope he does not become discouraged. He looks in game shape, but probably needs more work. He will get back in the rotation. Hang in there, big guy, we need your sweet mid-range jumper.
the achilles tear is a devastating athlethic injury. it's clearly affecting him, and it seems like he just can't get any elevation. the guy is talented, and was great for us two years ago. you gotta feel for the guy (especially if you've ever had an injury of that nature). hopefully, things will turn around for him.
The guy is coming off serious and I mean SERIOUS injury that kept him down for a year. He's not going to just bounce back and start producing. Having one of his worst years he managed to put up 10 points and 6 rebounds and I would take that right now.
Is he relegated to the end of the bench? I did not watch the Philly game and I did not see his name on the box score.
I hope you get better Mo, but right now, there is no doubt you are 3rd string (big-time) ...You need to perform and produce. I think you can still do it, at least I hope so...
I've seen this injury wreck a lot of athlete's career, but what has been a little different in Mo's case is that he's looked good in practices, and by most reports all summer. If this is just a "lingering" thing for awhile, it's no big deal. I just hope he can cope with his frustration because we are going to need him. In the meantime I'm so glad the Rockets haven't traded KT. By the way, nice "open letter" Thumbs.
Thanks, but I just wish MoT would wear a Santa hat or something the next game to acknowledge that he got the message. He's a player, and I realize I'm kind of strange this way, but I think we should support every Rocket in their good times and their bad. I see too many "he (insert Rocket) sucks" posts by fair weather fans.
Yeah, I wish more posts commented more about the team play, even when a comment is made about a particular player - SF's play is affected a lot by what his teammates do and don't do. It seems that fans are prone to having a favorite player and view the game through a jaundiced eye. And our power forwards are just trashed by this board. I'm happy for KT's play in the last two games, I love E. Griff's. potential, and I'll say this though MoT hasn't been able to hit a shot, he shows more court savvy offensively than the other two. This new system seems to suit his game, we just need him to get his game back. He's got to be frustrated right now, but I think he'll work through it. I'm relatively new here, it should be interesting to see this B.B.S. when we have a championship-contending team. I bet it's really vicious then.
Great comments thumbs. I don't visit any other team sites but the Rocket hate here is terrible. I still think that right now, Mo is our best PF, he just needs to get on the court so he can re-find his shot. His court savy is second to no other PF on our roster and I really think he's improved his rebounding (6 in 15min v. the Hornets). He seems like a good guy and I really hope that all this pt KT is getting (since he started complaining by the way) doesn't discourage Mo or EG. Soon enough though, I think KT might be gone and Mo's role will become important again. If not this year, next year for sure.
I don't see him doing much this year... I think he is just a little rusty. KT has impressed me last couple of games... I take back all the negative comments made of him... It's pretty obvious that he is our best PF right now... MoT in his career has put up solid numbers... So we know he is a capable scorer... Lets hope his injuries do not hold him back too much longer. We sure could use his mid-range jumper that he is so good at nailing.
